I forget the exact game, but it was definitely for the Saturn. Probably Thunder Force 5.
I also almost got Sonic 3 for the Mega Drive. Was seriously tempted while on hold when calling Gamefan's mail order department; they would play upcoming releases, and I can still remember the game being described as a "24 meg monster" which I so badly wanted to get my hand on. I'm assuming this was before the game got split into two games.
