I received my account info for it, after having three different email addresses send pretty much the same info way back in December. I doubt it increased my chances in the slightest; looking back at the invite from December, they just want as many computers accessing their servers for a month to measure the stress. Satisfied, they'll then dump it as a public release and it will be another MMO on the market!
Anyways, infos 'cause I'm not much for description: look at this lovely forum post by TOLL
Anybody else got this? Anybody else planning to try it out? |

| Torrents are 'loading slow as molasses and directdownload methods have been crapping out on me. It will be about a week before I have this thing all ready to be installed. |

First impressions is that the graphics tend to remind me of Final Fantasy XII, even though I've only watched somebody play that game for a day. I've cranked down the settings at the start because I know my laptop has enough trouble trying to run in the first place; it probably choke on high textures or some of the fancier options turned on.
I have to say, female Elementalist is completely busty, to the point where I'm disgusted and refused to ever create one of them. |

I'm under the name Barklight. It's my alternate name set (along with first name Alef) whenever I don't want to go under GrimmSweeper or one of its derivatives. I was planning to try out as the Schitt family, with such names as Awe and Noe to populate my barracks, but the initial warning of "Yeah, please don't use derogatory names or else" kept me from following that thread of thought.
Not to mention I was attempting to put in Cassandra for a female Knight and it didn't like it because of 'ass'. So she's Casyndra instead. *shrugs*
The levelling is unobtrusive, so far. I kind of don't pay attention to it, so when I glance down at my character stats, it surprises me that I've already gained 3 levels just jogging around slaughtering the beasties. I've yet to increment any of my stance skills 'cause only one of them is open. I'd like to see some variety first before signing my character's life away on some possibly meaningless track that will conclude with their deletion.
Fighting can be made absolutely automatic. There are certain commands that can set your team running towards a spot, hacking and slashing their way through mobs as they make their way there. Then have them jog back collecting all the items they dropped (not a whole lot of variety there) with another. There's also the possibility of setting them up to sit and attack any and every mob that comes within range. Theoretically, you could set them in a fairly dense pack, leave the computer to do something else for an hour and come back with a fair chunk of experience gained.
The AI is really good with automatic healing via the Scout, too. |
