You realize that producer != director, right?

Producers really aren't anything to worry about, since they just endorse the idea of the movie and provide the money. Producers only become a problem when they start withholding money to get their own ideas put into the movie (see: that story about Kevin Smith's Superman movie and the producer who wanted the giant robot spider which eventually ended up in Wild, Wild West).
