Castlevania Legends. 6USD
Not as bad as I feared. Feels nicer than the other Gameboy ones anyway. I am laughing that they used the exact same grunt effects for taking damage as Simon had in CV1 even though there's a girl protagonist. She has much nicer posture than all the other Belmont's too. Shame that there's no cartilige in her knees.
Also, holy shit! I picked up an axe which apparently does nothing, but I have a subweapon that heals me for 20 hearts when I U+B. And it doesn't really help.

I fucking love that game.
I don't know why I find it amazing. Maybe it's the girl protagonist? Alucard? The random trap rooms and the sub-weapons that do nothing, but unlock the good ending if you find them all?
I really like the music.

It doesn't suck at all! That is, if you mean Operation C. It's an awesome game, with awesome ideas like the upgradeable spread shot and automatic turbo fire from the get-go (first Contra to have this? I have no idea if it predates Contra III or not, also I don't know if any of the arcade games have turbo fire.) It's also cool how it's really easy for the first few stages, but then starts getting hard enough that you won't be seeing the latter stages without really getting into the Contra spirit. I got this game a while ago used, though I've mostly been playing it emulated using my M3, because the Micro doesn't play original GB cartridges.
But the last Konami game I bought was Neo Contra. I haven't played it yet, don't even have the console to play it on, but it was cheap enough that I had to buy it. I also have Gradius Galaxies still unopened, might have to start playing that in celebration of the Week, though I'm already playing through Circle of the Moon for the second time right now, so even if I don't open it I'm still celebrating in one way. |

I've been told that Azure Dreams is the best rogue-like for the Playstation, but since I don't like rogue-likes I do not have any sort of opinion of it.
Actually, I've kinda started liking rogue-likes. So maybe I should check it out.
