mature meter off the scale cap'n we're good to go
what the hell is wrong with trevor's body
also emo zombie
well heck i got hit once
for some reason if you come within like 5 feet of the spikes you die in the game
and die for real
i like the backgrounds in the forest a lot
i was disappointed with the lack of machinated enemies in portrait of ruin
personally i was hoping for some robot owls
the landscape capitalizes on trevor's loneliness
tip-top spot for a suicide if i do say so myself
oh hi
man fuck you guys
when i beat a level in cv1 i like to hold down the jump and attack button so simon whips and jumps like a muhfugga before the victory music stops playing
trevor is incapable of such activities
9 YEARS LATER
the catacombs are boring as shit
time for sum atlantis
god damn it these things take more hits than dracula
oh for the love of
would you just
oh my god
holy hell
good thing grabbing the orb magically saves me from the approaching water somehow
not another underground level
oops got hit by a bat
500 YEARS LATER
this part with falling blocks is just horrendous
losing...will...to...play...
yup i quit.
besides the exaggerations, yeah, i don't dig castlevania 3. for me, it's too big, too frustrating, too many vertical towers with annoyingly placed, sluggish monsters that make you wait until the game decides to have them move away from the top of the staircases.
i do like the first two stages, but anything beyond that feels stretched out, large for the sake of "oh shit huge game on the nes whoaaa this is big oh hi 1990" instead of dishing out fun situations.
maybe this isn't the most positive topic ever for konami week, but i felt like expressing a viewpoint that isn't often seen! i know a lot of fans enjoy the game, and i don't think i've ever heard anyone outright being bored by it.
to end on a happier note, the music is insanely good, and many of the stages' graphics are fantastic. as said, i'm especially fond of the forest with its rich colors and pine trees in the distance.
i'd prefer if this was a castlevania 3-exclusive discussion.
oh, heck - this whole thing is probably redundant! enjoy the screenshots and sink into some nostalgia!!

Are you playing on an emulator?
It's... notoriously difficult to emulate properly! So that might be part of your problem!! |
eh...it was running perfectly, as far as i know.
japanese version, by the way. superior sound quality, yo.
there's the notoriety surrounding the motif, but my favorite stage in the game is actually the clock tower. i think it best captures the constant, clever set-pieces of the first game while being a bit more expansive. the rest of the levels feel like countless, zig-zagging towers and long stretches of land where the focus is more on overwhelming with enemies than strategic situating.
i've never played the american version, but i hear dracula's final form is extremely difficult. funny, considering how easy the japanese one is. doesn't japan usually get the brutal end of the stick? |

that is true!
trevor appears to be good just for getting in some beefy hits. ;__;

they're vampiric rabbits in the japanese version. i've no idea why it's more toned down than the u.s. cv3.
odd thing is, the american castlevania 4 had them as rabbits.
who knows? |
