Anyway, I'm playing this on some damn version of ePSXe and so far the only thing that has caused me problems is when the game would stutter because of the voices. Turning these off in the system menu alleviated that problem! But...now I can't hear what the ladies are saying and since I can only read hiragana and like...six kanji this is kind of a small problem.

But I will not let that stand in the way of true love!

So, my first day in the game the main female character Shiori Fujisaki walks up to me after school lets out. If I was like every other boy at Kirameki High I would no doubt be drooling all over myself and trying my best to conceal my raging on hard on. As it is, I could care less.

Sorry babe, but get lost. I'm a man on a mission. I have no time for you.


Now, the girl I'm pursuing is Saki Nijino. My buddy tells me she likes sports but isn't that good at them. She is in to men who sweat profusely while immersed in sport. With this in mind I begin working out obsessively so that I can build up enough perseverance. During my first jog of the day I bump in to Nozomi Cantrememberherlastname. This girl is completely in to sports as evidenced by that smart little yellow towel wrapped around her neck. She also appears to be drinking some sort of canned beverage that no doubt provides much needed energy.

Sorry, Nozomi. Hit the road. I am not in to butch ladies.


Despite my near constant work out routine and carefully planned dietary regimen Saki still hasn't noticed me. That is until one fateful morning...

This is probably the worst picture I have ever seen of her. It is kind of terrifying.


Saki asks me to join one of the clubs shes in (baseball or soccer) to which I totally agree. The game, as they say, is afoot.

But before I can work up the nerve to ask her out an terrible thing happens. The sports festival is sprung on me and everyone gets to see how awful I am at balancing a ball on a tennis racket while running.

Not my proudest moment.



Saki comes over to emasculate me further. That cute red bandana stops my heart.




After this utter humiliation in front of the entire high school I kind of revert back to working out alone for days at a time. I don't call Yoshio, I don't study, and I quit combing my hair. My stress is through the roof and I never have any stamina. Finally, I sleep for a week. When I wake up I am a man on fire. I pick up the phone and dial Saki's number.

Me: Saki, sup, hey you wanna go to the mall or something a week from today?

Saki: Oh...uh...sure! See you there!

Score.

It's on. I work out some more the rest of the week and finally the big day arrives.


Don't worry about it, baby.

We make idle chit chat before I boldy suggest we go in to a shoe store. She asks me something and then it hits me: I don't know very much Japanese. Yet, here I am trying to get with this Japanese broad. I start to sweat as I fumble for words.

I don't even know what the best thing to say is out of these three.


I pick one of them and she doesn't seem to be too upset. She isn't filled with joy either but at least I've found the "medium" answer. We talk a bit more and then she says she had fun today. I run home and work out more.

A little while later we go to an amusement park together and I make the bone headed choice of going to one of those sentai live action shows with her. She handles it gracefully enough but I think that I'm dancing on a razor's edge here. The next date had better be OFF THE HOOK!


Exam week rolls around and since I am nothing more than a muscle head, I fail at everything. Notice my poor test score:



After that hellish week of exams I decide unwind with a trip to the movies with Saki. And this is where it went downhill. I don't know what the fuck we went and saw:

But whatever it was, it sealed my fate. I called Saki after that and she refused to go out with me. I called her a week later and she still said no. It got to the point where I couldn't even go to the soccer or baseball club anymore.

So, I saved and wrote this post.

Last time I updated this thread things between me and Saki were NOT going well. Everytime I asked her out on a date she was always "washing her hair" that night. Well, things have gotten a little better since then...

She finally agreed to go to the park with me. I totally wowed her with some really witty comment.


Then this girl with very odd hair kept bumping in to me and apologizing.


My tokimeki love rival Rei threw a XMAS BASH at his mansion. I picked the present on the far left and scored some kind of book. Totally worthless and the punch wasn't even spiked.


New Year's Day rolled around and I decided to give Saki a call to see if she'd go with me to a/the shrine or whatever the fuck happens on NYD. We had a tottemo tanoshii time.


A little while later we went back to the same park and held hands under the dead winter trees. I wowed her with another witty and incisive comment.


AND THIS is the clincher, folks. After that date she asked ME, HAIRCUTE, out on another date to the movies. She couldn't even wait a fucking day! This is a good sign people if it wasn't for...


...this.


That;s right, a rival has shown up and it just so happens to be my completely favorite character in the entire game. I am a sucker for pink hair. Yukari has made her intentions known by beaning me with a tennis ball. Love is truly a battlefield...

Finally, how do the girls feel about me so far?


Most of the ladies I have met are giving me nuetral expressions right now which is, of course, better than the sad face Yukari is giving me.

Find out this weekend if I can win a true love before graduating from Kirameki High!
