I really like the story in BOF:DQ. It's a simple story, and I think it's less animu or jrpg than you guys give it credit for. I'd say it's even more derivative than that, and can be likened to any story where the hero saves a girl and fights a rival.
And that's what I love about it. It's an incredibly stripped down narrative, in which most of the unecessary details are thrown out. It's a minimalistic story where the characters, the pacing, the dialog, the graphics, and the environment all complement. And it's because it's so basic, and so united with the game itself, that I love it so. _________________ I can no longer shop happily. |
