Didn't Eiding mention in an audio interview that, unlike MGS1, all the lines were recorded separately in MGS2 (i.e. Eiding did his lines, then Hayter did his and so on)? If that's true, then I'm pretty sure that had a major impact on the way the parts were acted out.
Also, MGS1 characters didn't have lips, they only had something very pixelated that resembled a mouth -- and that didn't move at all, or change colors or whatever. Saying that the actors had to lip-sync is a bit of a stretch, but there's still the time limitation, of course. _________________
