i'm talking about the konami game, OZ, otherwise known as Over Zenith.

besides japan, it was also released in europe under an alternate title (something to do with a sword), but never made its way to the u.s.

has anyone played it? can you tell me about it?

always appeared to be kind of fun. the main feature is a juggle system, wherein you attack enemies and then kind of...volley them over to other team members. or something like that.

the cutscenes look pretty cool. kind of like gungrave.

also, the music's done by michiru yamane, so it's considerably good.

Yeah! I remember hearing about this way back when, but it totally fell of my radar. Is it worth an import?

I have played a song on DDR Extreme 2 that I guess must be from it because it has the bottom left screenshot in the video. I always thought it was a Final Fantasy thing.

I have the European version on my PS2's hard drive. I plan to play it (and maybe take footage or something) sometime this Fucking Week. Stay tuned.

Why haven't there been any games set in prisons yet? You could restore your health by raping people, make money by dealing drugs, bribe COs and shank your rivals.

The prison minigame in Space Rangers 2 is pretty much just that, but without the rape.

If the ridiculous reaction to that Snickers ad with the two guys kissing is anything to go by, we're a long way off from that vision.

I remember reading about this game on the IC frontpage some time ago. Wasn't it supposed to have some rhythm-game like functions?

Also is it okay if I move this to the FKW forum?

The Suffering.

There's an N-Gage game (possibly unreleased) on the Lost Levels site, where to get out of prison you can pay someone to break you out, or...anally rape you so hard you end up in the city hospital, from which you escape. I...I kind of get why the N-Gage isn't talked about beyond Pocket Kingdoms.

That was the Gizmondo, actually!

The N-Gage still sucks though. Isn't Nokia doing another one?

It is a pretty song though! It made me curious about this game. I am glad I know what game it is now!

Riddick and The Suffering are horror and sci-fi though. I'm talking about a realistic sandbox game set in a prison. I guess the problem would be that the environment is too small. But this could be worked around by making you reenact each inmates' crime on the outside before recruiting them into your gang.

And I don't think the gay community would object to a game about prison rape, since most prison rapists aren't actually gay. It doesn't make them look bad (hence why they didn't protest Oz the show).

A game where you play as Adebisi would be gold.

yeah, this seems fun. though it makes me question how smart the a.i. is.

imagine a co-op version of dmc3 with this juggle system. that would be lovely!

legato, have you played any of it yet?

Yeah, I've been playing it. It's alright, if a bit simplistic. Oh, and the voice acting is pretty bad in English and Spanish! The story is pretty agonizing, so I've taken to playing it in Spanish. Not that that stops me from seeing the pre-rendered cutscenes in English, but it means I can fast-forward through all the text-based cutscenes with only slight understanding of their "let's kill God!" contents.

Also, Toto is a flying cat and Dorothy is a damsel in distress. You fucked it up, Konami!
