God, I hope so. Black dude named Fluffyumpkins, shot glass of everclear in hand. There would be some cosmic kind of rightness about that. So much so that I won't let myself believe it until someone confirms it. _________________

I began posting here in December and stopped before January.
Some lurking was in order, mostly. That happened - I checked threads here and got to grasp the overall flavor of IC/SB. It was better reading than the rest of the games-oriented internet, that's for sure.
Then, three days ago, I found myself skiing in Whistler Mountain. At 4:00, administration pulled the plug on the chairlifts as per the norm. This ends the day. This is when everyone escapes down the SKI OUT run, the only route off the mountain. With a day's worth of tourists mowing down it, the conditions on SKI OUT turn to shit. Powder is crushed into ice, people are tired; although SKI OUT is a technically simple run, it causes the majority of Whistler's accidents. Me, I was slaloming around SKI OUT with a group of people when a snowboarder came screaming down the hill out of nowhere, crashed into me and broke my leg right then and there!
With a newly broken leg, I have more time for the internet than before. Enough time to start posting on SB again, but hopefully BETTER.
Oh, and my taste in games. I play them for atmosphere more than anything. Not to be completely shallow, but aesthetics have priority in my book, and I lash out at whatever contrived plot devices and video-gamey tackiness disrupt them. My fondness for jagged polygons, which are a visual style of their own by now, dictates that the Nintendo 64 is my favorite console, despite its musical range being fucking offensive. Pilotwings on there is glorious. |

Ah, you lot have one o'these exercises. Very well.
The handle's as it is, because it's my name and I lack an imagination. I loathe most videogames, because they aren't silly enough anymore. Fortunately, 3rd Strike's very silly indeed, and I now drive a reasonable Oro.
RPGs from any territory irritate me profoundly. This, like, totally deserved its own line. Oh yeah.
Recently, the events of my life were viciously lampooned by Hollywood. I'm rather fucked off about this, but frankly, I had it coming.
That'll suffice, for present.
(One could also admit to being Jap-literate, but this's almost certainly Select Button's very own AIDS, so one shan't. One can also use small-font codes.) |

Nah you're "getting" it, there isn't really anything to "get", or you know, of the things there are to "get", no one really "gets" it all, and you're "getting" what you "get" and that is as much "getting" as anyone else if not more.
I mean, just think back to the story I told you about the naming of select button in that thread.
I mean.
It doesn't make any sense.
Because there is no sense.
Yeah? |

Greetings and what-not. I am James, aka 'darthjim' in most places. Some of you may have seen me spouting vitriol on the Edge forum, or The Player forum (where I reside as chief Paint Troll, aka 'Art Editor').
When not involved in gaming jiggery-pokery and paint-daubing, I'm usually found lifting stupidly-sized lumps of metal, acting the buffoon with words or wandering the countryside worrying nature in all its forms.
So, I was pointed in the direction of this place by my Editor at The Player (Google), and it seems like a decent haunt, despite his presence.
Nice to meet all of yours acquaintance, I hope I can contribute to the general barely-repressed bitterness, rampant grumpiness and vague disinterest. I am moist with anticipation. _________________ www.the-scoremagazine.com |

Hey everyone, I have been lurking around reading the posts and whatnot for a while, but I didnt register, because most of the time these days I dont have too much time, so I didnt have a lot of time to be posting on a message board. Anyways, not much has actually changed, but I find myself wanting to post more, so I went ahead and registered.
I hail from the mistake on the lake, Cleveland, Ohio, a town a love and dont plan to leave. I am good friends with Boojiboy7, I went to high school with him, have slept in the same bed as him, he was in my wedding, and he has smacked my gigantic nose more times than I'd like to recall.
I loves me some video games, but recent years have placed me in a position where I cant really afford too many new ones, let alone new consoles (crosses fingers waiting for a free 360 to drop out of the sky). I am a restaurant manager for Denny's (read: I hate my job and all the time I spend there), so I also do not have as much free time as I used to. But, this situation has also given me the opportunity to go back and replay and enjoy many of the games I have amassed over the years, which makes me feel good about saving them all this time.
Anyways, I hope to be able to post more regularly in the future, and hopefully get a 360 and get some online gaming going on with those of you that do such things. |

| I tend to switch between the two. Part of it has to with my left hand being the one I hit shift with, and the carpal tunnel problem that tends to turn in into a claw. |

Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I hail from Perth, Australia, home to wombats, kangaroos, clean beaches and dirty girls. I'll be in Japan for a year starting next month to finish off my Japanese degree.
I love video games to the extent that compiling a list of favourites would take too long; stand-out favourites of mine include TIE Fighter, Homeworld, Halo, Super Mario RPG, Yoshi's Island, Ninja Gaiden, Gears of War and Ys: The Oath In Felghana.
In my spare time I enjoy drawing, 3d modelling and animation, web design and dreaming of a career in the game industry - whether in America, Australia or Japan.
Nice to meet you all. |

I've hit every board (namely IC, DPS, and Insomnia) under one name or another. ---Posted with the rarity of an eclipse, but I remember the whole lot of you. I'm a beginning freelance illustrator, and the absolute laziest one available (I blame video games). Outside of this and the artwork, I'm a jack of all failures, performing all other tasks with startling mediocrity. I'm a fan of every genre, but fighters (favorites: Guilty Gear X, Soul Calibur, VO:OT, Virtua Fighter & Tekken series), survival horror/action (Resident Evil 4, Devil May Cry 1 & 3), and RPGS (bloody pick one) rank highest on the list. Also! I collect action figures and strategy guides.
Nice to see you guys again. _________________ Un forastero! |

I don't take much issue with it if it's in the axe and a short, one-sentence post. But long, multi-paragraph posts written entirely in lower-case are fucking terrible to read, though. It's as if the poster wants to make their (long) argument/opinion as unattractive as possible before one even begins to read.
But there isn't much one can do about it, except to whine on and on about it. _________________

Hey there guys. I'm Alec. Heard about this place from extrabastardformula during GOD HAND week. Decided to join because, after playing GOD HAND, I know any place that has a week dedicated to it is probably filled with good taste. I recognize a few people here from other places, which is a plus I guess.
If you can't tell already, I get a hard-on for Atlus and It's A Wonderful World. Other things I like include Nippon Ichi, SNK fighting games, MegaTen, Persona, GOD HAND, Killer7, Cave Story, some anime, various art styles (including pixel art), various styles of music (mostly techno, rock, and surf music), and being one of those fags who talks like they know something when really they just looked it up on Wikipedia.
I'm also a hypocrite in that I enjoy many things I make fun of.
I think that's about it. Hope I didn't forget anything.
Already edited this twice because I forgot things. So much for that. _________________
