I'm actually kind of liking the potion thing now that it's doing something.

Though eventually we're going to start arguing about how we need another button to take away hearts for posts we don't like or whatever and by that point I'm going to be like well why don't we just add a diggbar type thing to the site and be done with it.

Actually I guess posts you don't like/don't find noteworthy you could just not potion and let them stand as they are. At least that way the positive/negative reinforcement social aspect is a bit more uhhh... fuzzy, I guess is the word I'm drawing right now at the moment and I think it's the right word for what I'm trying to express here.

That being that the potion thing is a neat idea for some kind of positive reinforcement of especially noteworthy posts, like what Post of the Week was originally intended to be once upon time when some of us (>.>) still cared about the general decorum of the place, but at the same time has the added benefit of not having a "digg down" button so all of the actual reinforcing will be positive/neutral. Depending on whether you decide to potion someone's post or not.
