We had mixtapes before and I think we should have one again now.

The last one I tried to get together ended up blowing a dog. Let's trying again.

In commemoration of the outside of my window today and the color of my in-the-making leather jacket of the century, the theme for the mixtape is

BIG BLUE SKY ZONE Act 1

I would mostly like songs that sound like blue skies even if they're not about blue skies, to clarify. Songs about blue skies do tend to sound like blue skies, though, now that I think about it.

Send them as mp3 at least 128kbps (192 is preferred) with the name of the artist AND track title to number108 AT g mail!

LOL

man i have so many songs i would put into this i'm starting to get scared

think hard before submitting

i'm thinking: if i were watching a scene movie about myself and it was a rolling side-view of me riding a motorcycle with sunglasses on and a sleeping girl with her arms around my waist, and the sky in the background just a perfect blue, no sound effects, just music: what song would that be??????

It would be a very epic song I think.

With synths.

And no vocals.

I don't believe in the Blue Skies = Big Synths equation.

I have sent something along that reflects this.

Tim has anyone sent you some capsule? that would be cool if capsule was on there. I really like the music they do.

Also: DK's Moon over marin would be a good blue sky song i think.

Metalocalypse has a song called "Hatredcopter" on the Saw III soundtrack, though I haven't heard it yet, and I presume it is meant to be set more on a blood red sky with gray and black clouds.

Someone has sent you Green Hill Zone, yes? Or an Outrun song at least?

If not, I'll do it. Just watch me do it.

It starts out hard, but wait until the main melody comes in.

I don't have doubts. I just can't think of any good blue sky music. Haven't been listening to a lot of hot-shit music lately.

Pink Floyd's "Goodbye Blue Sky" would probably be the antithesis of what you're looking for. It is oddly a very blue sky sounding song in parts.

Why does nobody mention the pillows and "blues drive monster"?
the girl I'm in love with could tell me to fuck off and I would walk happily away listening to THAT song. That song is the best big-blue-sky.mp3 you'll find.

Of course, you already have though about adding that one!

i meant to put it up when me and james' sonic article went live though that didn't happen yet.

and . . . . . the songs really aren't that good. they don't . . . flow together.

and someone sent in some outrun 2 music which is very groanworthy because the whole idea of this is to, like, present an "alternate sega soundtrack" -- not an actual fuckin sega soundtrack :(

i guess i can put it up anyway

let me get back to my mac then

well uh that's kind of what you get when you have something with no genre rules. you just asked us for songs that evoked a sense of blueskyness. :I

i mean did you hear that flying through space mix? that was pretty all over the place.
