The SH2 screencap thread reminded me of this.

A while ago, Gizmodo posted a link to a collection of sounds of dying hard drives on Hitachi's website. Then a couple weeks later, they posted a contest asking people to make songs using those sounds. The winning song just used a couple of the sounds, and mostly used generic techno samples; my entry was one of the few to be made ENTIRELY with the dying hard drive sounds.

Since I'd just finished SH2, the song I made reminded me of it, so I titled it "Pyramid Head is one hell of a dancer".

here it is, for your FKW enjoyment.

I've never played a Silent Hill game, but I can imagine this being a great addition to a Silent Hill soundtrack. Maybe you should scream lyrics about the hard drive graveyard after midnight over top of this song? That might be sweet.

Two out of two thumbs up!

Having seen two HDDs crashing for MASSIVE DAMAGE, although not being Hitachi drives, the scratching gives me a bad feeling.
I can imagine a sequence where you have to access information in a videogame, your life depending on the data you have to obtain. Imagine that song playing while you try to reach that PC only to find out that it's HDD is broken.

Brilliant.

I almost feel like this could be a secret track on a Kraftwerk album.

Sorta sounds like the bass and percussion to Alien Storm's BGM.
