Try kubuntu then.
I have currently WiXP, ubuntu and kubuntu on my HDDs and I'm pretty impressed with kubuntu, since I knew that KDE wasn't THAT good some years ago when I first considered to switch to Linux.
Now, though, it seems like KDE is fine and never had a problem so far, except for when I messed around with the xorg.conf-file and ... uh, accidentally switched some values.
Nevertheless, I even got my Samsung Z5 to be recognised, so I think that's a pretty good sign that Linux can be usable if you have just a slight notion of what you are doing. _________________
