Also I had really horrible lag this time around, so I missed portions of the conversation. One person would finish saying a thing and I wouldn't hear it until someone else started talking thus missing what both those people said. _________________

Here is the dangerously raw version. Two hours and thirteen minutes. All I can hear is my own awkwardness and mistakes! It was nice to talk to you guys, though. I think I have a lot of games I need to play. Good luck editing it.

Eh, I think we are getting close to them being "official", honestly. I don't know that they can do much more "official" unless we get much stricter about them (which would be to their detriment, definitely).
Sorry I didn't make this one. Stupid lease signing and then an apartment that desparately needed to be cleaned so we can pack to move. I could've talked a shitload about Silent Hill 2 with that topic, definitely.
Maybe Killer7 too, though people tend not to like to talk about that one. That's a game that almost subverts subversion, though. |

3,504 cuts later the editing is complete. I managed to reign it in to an hour and a half, most of which was gained after the deletion of dead space (not the talk of the game actual dead space lol). now to just toss some music in there and get it bounced to disk overnight ellipses
This cast was quite good! especially now that a good bit of the the stumbling around is removed. I guess it felt a tad "listy" in the first 10 minutes, but once sextralife got the ball got rollin' the conversation was as interesting as in any other episode to date.

man, that would be really swell of you actually! Though I wouldn't know what to ask for. I guess I don't have any of the original Fallout games and all those are pretty cheap!
| negativedge wrote: |

actually you sounded good, except, were you on push to talk or something? either way the last syllable of every sentence you spoke was cut off, and that can only be fixed by "borrowing" sounds from other words you said. suffice to say I didn't have time to fix it! you can still understand it all, though.

I cut out the part where you said the name of the game. now it sounds like you are referring to the game in context. I did something similar but a little more involved when rudie brings up Deus Ex early on. _________________

Yeah, definitely on push to talk. When I listened to it I was a little struck by how easy it was to tell I was doing that. Not only is the lag cutting off syllables, but you can actually hear me mashing my ~ key.
It's one of those wow affections that I have to actually try to drop while doing something like this. In that game I try to separate every thought with a new push-to-talk burst, to the point where I'll let go of the button and re push it even if I know exactly what I'm going to say. Basically it's because I type
like
this
in
that
game
lol
and I need to sound like just as big of an idiot on vent as I do in game. VERY IMPORTANT STUFF |

can you admire

(click for an edited version of this week's podcast)
barring any further technical difficulties, I think we should think about taking this show live within the next few weeks. by then we'll have a small stable of "episodes" we can consider as candidates for release, and the revolving crew will be accustomed to the mechanical and social aspects of doing the cast.
I like the idea of front page posts for new episodes but I am kind of wondering what the best way to serve these things would be... _________________

considering no one in the world including the people who already post here read the front page, it shouldn't be the exclusive delivery system. _________________ Let's Play, starring me. |

i did not include a suggestion because i have none. i only know that relying exclusively on the frontpage (of course it should be put on the frontpage, that's a different issue) would result in an audience precisely the same size as it already has.
maybe we can get abdn to host it? then again, probably not. _________________ Let's Play, starring me. |

I'm guessing the audience is about 25-30 people based on mediafire statistics. so that's a fine start, but of course it's all posters that are already here.
if we are looking for the largest audience possible maybe we just need to set aside the concept of our niche communities (SB/IC/ABDN etc.) and set about promoting it as one would promote any other podcast. it will arguably be more interesting to an outsider anyway!
which leads me to think, maybe we should add some kind of pre-written informational blurb to be read at the top of the show, containing some really basic info (the website, what the hell the show is about, etc) which can be rolled into stating the topic. and maybe a similar tag for the end, too. _________________

maybe a new subforum? seen it work pretty well for other sites. each episode gets a thread for comments, downside is the order gets all shuffled

Also, I like the idea of an info blurb for the podcasts. |

I really like this idea. The only problem at this point is expansion of audience. As much as I hate to say it we need to 'raise awareness'*.
*Really dislike that phrase

| I think once we get to "official" official episodes, we need a couple guidelines to go by. We need the intro, we need a reasonable time limit, and we need to confirm the participants before the podcast actually begins, and then lock the room until it's over. We could maybe have recurring segments or guests or whatever, but that might be unnecessary. |

Yes to the intro
Yes to the time limit
Not to sure on the room locking.
And yes, recurring stuff might be unnecessary for what we are doing. _________________

man, i probably should listen to that moon episode soon. i'm kind of behind on my pod hands.
you guys are great, by the way. i agree that maybe this needs to become more "official" in some way, though i wouldn't recommend regular "segments", other than maybe "what's up?" though we'll have to manage time. i think an hour plus (no more than an hour and a half) is perfect for this sort of thing.
i still wish i could hop in and talk with you guys, but i have a mac and it has chosen my fate. _________________

I don't like that to much...as long as we just title the threads right, people won't get the order wrong. _________________
