I am betting this new Lufia will probably debut on one of the handheld consoles since nobody is willing to spend money to develop an 80 hour RPG on a modern console. I never did play the Lufia on GBA now that I think about it. Did anyone? |

People with PS3s should get PSPs. And people with PSPs should get PS3s. PSP Ad Hoc Party is coming to America, and Monster Hunter is awesome.
So is METAL GERR. _________________ interdimensional |

Final Fantasy XIII announces its release date... in this 5 minute commercial!
Man, the HUBRIS! You owe it to yourself to watch the awkward last minute of that video.
Also, this is apparently the themesong for the USA / EUR release.
I am going to become extremely excited for this game 1) because somebody has to, and 2) let's face it, you will all play it eventually.
It just looks SO BAD. |

That doesn't even make sense. XI is an MMO (barely a Final Fantasy game, but certainly decent for what it is), and 12 is the best game in the series.
Admittedly I don't have a lot of faith in 13, but I have hope.

this is so silly.
what's the difference between "imagination," "vision," and "artistry"?
why are the characters named lightning, snow, vanille, and hope?
like, is the main villain going to be named agony? X-DEATH
i . . . can't tell what's going on in the battle footage.
another Dumb Name (tm) slapped onto the battle system which is anything but self-explanatory.
why is yamamoto speaking in english? man, just speak your primary language and save yourself the trouble

There is no detailed report on Reginleiv yet, but he will put one up later tonight. He mentions the game supports both Motion+ as well as the classic controller and that it is a surprisingly violent game. You can target the heads and limbs of enemies in the game, and slice off both heads and limbs complete with blood effects. It definitely earns the CERO D rating. The setting of the game is an EDF style action game pitting young deities against a race of giants. The free online play is for co-op, and supports up to 4 players. There will be weapon customization, featuring over 300 different weapons. |
Some of this sounds like mistranslations, but I'll import this baby on release day anyway, along with two motion plus thingies if the rumours turn out to be true. Sandlot cannot do wrong. |

Woooooo. I'll be playing it soon to see how it stacks up. Can't imagine it won't be great, but we'll see if there's anything new for fans of the original GBA release... |

If you like Digidrive and have an Xbox, you should also check out Carcophony, which is similar but different. _________________

| I don't know if it's been mentioned, the by NY Times Magazine has a pretty good piece on the indie games scene and the potential meaning and depth of interactivity that treats the topic as open, fair and learned as it might any other cultural topic. worth a read not for anything new, but for the bump up in tone that doesn't snidely or aloofly suggest some base inferiority |

I'm a page and a half in. If only it wasn't so full of Rohrer (who drives me nuts in a lot of very basic ways) and didn't ignore who did the art/design for Braid, a not insignificant part of that game's appeal. EDIT: Well, they acknowledge Hellman as the "renderer". Then Blow talks too much.
Still, it's better than the usual. |

re: WESKA - sweet, but his right foot looks really weird. I guess it's just the shadows that make it hard to pick out.
re: 3D Dot Game Heroes - really? interesting. I heard it only sold a few thousand copies (~12k?) week of release in Japan, so it'll be interesting to see how they market it here.
(it apparently didn't even debut in the top 10, ranking in slightly under Infamous of all things...)
