Steam is having an absolutely ridiculous sale right now, the best part of which (so far) is the THQ pack, which gets you $400 of high-profile games for $50. Of course, I'm too fucking broke to buy it for the three or four games I don't already have because I paid real money for the rest argh but if you or someone you know is even remotely interested in things such as Warhammer, Company of Heroes, Stalker, Red Faction, and Titan Quest, you need to check it out.
The main Steam sale page is here; they are doing some other good sales, and those sales will change every day starting, I guess, after two days.
The big THQ package is here. You have approximately 39 hours remaining until it doubles in price (which, fuck, would still be a great deal). |

| that's a good article. some of that crossed my mind quite a few times during the course of persona 4, where most of the characters are constantly telling you how awesome and what a great friend you are. |

yeah, that is weird. if it is some kind of multiplayer, that means these are full remakes, like sonic jam, rather than just emulation.
it's probably some bizarre mock up, but an S3K co-op mode sounds like it would be pretty great! _________________

it could be just at the start of the battle.
but on closer inspection, the only life counter there is knuckles', and the pilot's an eggrobo, not robotnik. i'm pretty sure it's a mockup now :(
(the pilot would be an eggrobo if the player was playing as sonic, and why would they make it be an eggrobo for a two-player mode?)(but on the other hand, maybe whichever character player one picks is the character whose story both play through? that would mean they wouldn't have to make an all-new story mode for co-op mode...)(and of course, being a handheld game, each player having their own screens would explain there only being one life counter) _________________

I will be pumped if they don't screw up the music (they already did for 3) and/or offer new materials like soniknuckles co-op but paint me skeptical.
My hope is that you can join another player on their adventure at any point, just sort of teleport in another character. I know its wishful thinking but 3 player might be nice since they could totally do it with each person having a separate screen and all, you could totally have a map on the lower screen showing where you are in relation to the the other players.

Eiji Aonuma makes direct reference to flying vehicle in new Wii Zelda, mouth-breathing fanboys go berserk.
He also apologizes for the Water Temple, regretting that you had to navigate the pause menu every time you wanted to switch boots. |

Video games have just entered into a brave new world
| Quote: |
Saboteur, which will be released Dec. 8 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, features mild nudity: The girls of the Belle de Nuit, a Parisian strip club that serves as your home base, will walk around without their tops if you flip the “Nudity” switch in the game’s menu.
Unless you download the $5 Midnight Show, however, that switch is inactive. But don’t worry: A free code to redeem the DLC is included with each copy of The Saboteur.
After you’re done breathing that sigh of relief, you may ask: Why lock this feature behind downloadable content if it comes free with every copy of the game? Simple: Breasts are only for people who buy the game new.
Purchase a pre-owned copy of The Saboteur, and you can bet that the previous owner already used the code, meaning that you’ll have to pay Electronic Arts another fiver. Lend the game to a friend? They’ll have to pay to get those tops off, too. |

people without internet access do not deserve digitits
and if it was really that important to you, a pre-owned copy plus the price of the dlc would still be significantly cheaper than buying the game new after about a month anyway. _________________

In what country do you live where pre-owned games sell for less than $5 off the new price?

britain. preowned games, especially big names are usually like, £10 cheaper at least after a month, after a few months, they're usually even less. after a year, they'll be about £8-15 pre-owned. if they weren't significantly cheaper than new, why would anyone bother with them? _________________

And yet it's still cheaper to order games new online. The prices I've seen for used games show very little difference from them new and they're both horrendously overpriced anyway. _________________

i haven't looked it up for consoles, but ds games are actually cheaper to import new from america than to buy pre-owned in the uk.
pre-owned console games do drop pretty quickly in price, though. where are you ordering from that's so cheap? _________________

Any with a gamestore that isn't an EB-Gamestop.
Now that one of the EB-Gamestop stores in my city got sold back to an independent I have no reason to see that crazy nonsense anymore.
actually, I think EB Canada occasionally POWERTOTHEPLAYER's it up a notch, and sells used games at the same price as new. I guess that's so people can take advantage of the "great savings" of the EB EDGE card. |

Cosmic Osmo was also also great. It's less known due to the lack of a PC port.
Same for Spelunx, which had this modular edu-cave system that really should have been expanded upon. |

Spelunx was a collection of creative utilities wrapped in an explorable world.
It was pretty ace.
Cosmic Osmo has a terrible spin off
