You can hunt animals in the wilderness and sell their pelts and shit at towns and trading posts. If you can survive the wilderness without getting taken down by a group of coyotes or a bear or something you can potentially make a lot of your money trading.

I hope you can make your own clothing. I desperately hope there is at least an ankle length duster you can wear.

Tex Murphy: Mean Streets and Martian Memorandum are free at GOG until the 24th.

It's worth noting that GOG already had three other adventure games freely available, since they've now become freeware, including Beneath a Steel Sky, Lure of the Temptress and Teenagent, which is handy if you don't really want to dick about configuring ScummVM and such.
