booji, Guwange XBLA's already been announced. So they're at least doing something with it.

In fact, weren't they originally planning to have all their 360 ports as downloadable releases, but Microsoft denied them?

I have the same problem as ghost dinosaur: Don't know a single other person who owns a PSP and Ad-Hoc Party isn't an option, so all I can do is dream about how amazing MoHu/Peace Walker multiplayer is.

Thanks Kiken, I thought I might have been wrong about that. Guess it was just the (ultimately botched) DOJ port that was denied by MS for XBLA, the others were planned as retail releases from the start.

I can't tell from the tiny screens, is Akai Katana 2D? The backgrounds seem to be hand-drawn, and remind me of Metal Slug snow stages.

booji, during my three years at college I've never seen a single PSP in the wild, and none of the bros I hang out with are much into gaming beyond calladooty/halo/madden. The nearest major city is a two-hour train ride away, so without a PS3, my prospects for MH-ing are likely not going to get much better.

The ill-fated Darius Burst (which even I have to admit kinda sucked) is getting a second lease on life through an arcade remake, heralding the glorious return of dual-screen 32:9 TaitoVision. It'll include the much-needed addition of multiplayer. Maybe we can hope for an XBLA/PSN port three years down the road.

Posting these new Darius Burst: Another Chronicle screens because TaitoVision:

These pretty much confirm it as a straight port/upgrade though, so it's still going to be the same lackluster PSP shmup (the development of which was farmed out to Pyramid, whose only previous credits include DBZ fighters) under all the luxurious presentation. I suppose none of this really matters, since barely any of us will ever get to play it :(

Now I remember the terrible MGS2: Substance version on the original Xbox. Holy cow, that one had some bad slowdowns.

It was based off the PC version (which meant no pressure sensitivity, even though the controllers supported it) and had some serious issues, yeah. Not the least of which was having to toggle first-person view with a face button!

As far as I know, Rising is being developed for PC and then ported to consoles, much like what Capcom does for everything now. I don't think any of the versions will turn out much different than the others.

Dual-core PCs to be housed in authentic Commodore 64 shells.
