The new Famitsu also confirms that Grev are porting Senko No Ronde DUO to the 360 (due out in Spring 2010).

No amount of sad faces can convey just how depressed I am right now. I was hoping so badly that that it would make it to the PS3 so I could import it. I really badly want to play it, but I'm not willing to spend $350 for a new console and a single game. But just for good measure, one sad face. :(

It's not really surprising. G.Rev have already released 2 arcade ports to the 360, so it would follow that they'd release any additional ports there. Also, they've demonstrated in the past that they choose a single console when it comes to ports. Last gen it was the DC (Dokidoki Idol Star Seeker, Border Down, Under Defeat), this gen it's the 360 (Senko no Ronde Rev X, Mamoru-kun wa Norowareteshimatta and now Senko no Ronde DUO). It's highly likely that Strania will also receive a 360 port.

I guess there's always waiting to see if a small 3rd party publisher like UFO or Valcom snag the publishing rights. Despite the western release of the first game doing poorly, it at least helped to establish a western fanbase for the game.

Asada confirms on the Cave blog that ESPGaluda II Black Label regular edition will be thier last region-free release:

Thank you for the warm messages from all over the world.
Espgaluda II Black Label Normal Edition is region free.
But I'm afraid new games after Espgaluda II Black Label won't be region free.
I assure you that Espgaluda II Black Label Normal Edition will be the last region free game for the time being.

Neo-Geo Heroes: Ultimate Shooting for PSP. It's sort of an extension of KOF Sky Stage, even has a Sky Stage mode.

GameStop Taking Reservations For Otomedius Excellent

In February we wondered if is Konami seriously thinking about localizing Otomedius after discovering a US registered trademark for Otomedius Gorgeous. The answer appears to be yes.

Two tipsters sent an e-mail telling us GameStop is taking reservations for Otomedius Excellent. I followed up by walking into a GameStop and reserving a copy. According to the retailer, Otomedius Excellent is available for Xbox 360 and scheduled to come out on September 8. It’s a full price game at $59.99. We realize retail listings aren’t always accurate and the dates or price may differ, but a game this obscure wouldn’t be appear in a database as an error, would it?

booji, Guwange XBLA's already been announced. So they're at least doing something with it.

In fact, weren't they originally planning to have all their 360 ports as downloadable releases, but Microsoft denied them?

Ah yeah, I remember there being some Cave/MS finagling about DL v. DVD release. I just also know that from numerous developers that the approval process for an iPhone app, while annoying as fuck, is still less of a pain than the XBLA process (see how long the Guwange XBLA port has been talked about and not released, versus how quick the iPhone apps get put out).

It wasn't Cave who were denied by MS. It was 5pb. This seems to be a common misconcenption. Cave didn't approach MS about a DL game until after Mushi Futari had been released (and that game, Guwange, got approved).

Also, actual screenshots of Akai Katana:

The achievement list for KOF Sky Stage just went up... and from the looks of things, it appears that it'll just be a straight arcade port (none of the extra stuff from Neo Geo Shooting Heroes on PSP).
