I really enjoyed We3. I don't have any real thoughts about it though.

I know that video game comics aren't always the best stuff out there, but I found the Modern Warfare 2: Ghost series to be a complete let down. It was just, frustrating. There was so much potential, and I even like the art style and most of the writing. Eh.

I enjoyed it when Lapham decided to draw the flashbacks. Beyond that, I guess it helped validate the Ian Fleming psychotic vibe I was getting from the game but not much else.

The best video game comic is Tsutomu Nihei's BLAME! the Prince of Persia novel by A.B. Sina.

I wish BLAME! was a video game. I wish anything that Nihei has done would be turned into a video game, Biomega is just cheeky enough to work.

Upon thinking about your Ian Fleming vibe stuff regarding the narrative, I think I'm gonna revisit the work. I don't know how I could have missed that before. But good point, and yeah the flashbacks were lush, I have to admit. I just wanted it to be really, really good, and I might have raised my own hopes without examining the whole of the series in regards to the narrative of it's titular series.

IDW's Iron Siege is a surprisingly enjoyable, pulp laden WWII horror genre mash-up. If I have anything really complementary to say about the book, it's the wider panelization, a sort of Venetian blinds layout that suits the larger formatting of the book incredible well. There at times feels during action transitions as if, something greater, much more dynamic is about to happen, but it's all quite routine. Gorgeous art. Fun.

I would have preferred it to be called "Wolfenstein: Gaiden" in all honesty.

I received the Kingdom Come TPB for my birthday. Can't wait to read it.

This makes me so mad. Everything makes me so mad, god dammit.

Yeah, me too.

Anyways, I've been reading the Deus Ex comic, and it's pretty enjoyable. Really trashy and pulpy. Reminds me of Angel Cop and other early Manga Corps cyberpunk shlock.

Severed is, well, promising. It has that undercurrent of dread that could develop into something meaningful, it's layout is gorgeous, but it's writing is just terrible so far.

Carbon Grey is pure visual splendor. It is however, marred by a willingness to separate the mythic narrative from a generic "adventure" narrative complete with terrible stereotypes and tons of cheesecake. It's Manga/Manhwa influences are instantly notable.

Monocyte is rather spectacular, if not deeply befuddling. The writing should have taken a deep backseat, as they are trying to build far to grandiose of a world and it's substructures through mythological development and info dumps. Tsutomu Nihei is no doubt, a profound influence, writing aside.

Suicide Squad isn't so bad! It's not quite amazing, but I'm still reading. (Hint: Just for King Shark)

Stiched is good. If not essentially Garth Ennis's Crossed set in Afghanistan.
