Thaddeus is such an amazing pixel artist. It's really a pity that the video quality is so low, because I'd really like a clear look at all the work he put into it.

As the Youtube video suggest, Max Payne sure had a lot of stupid mods...

Actually I love the Nightfever Mod (starts around 5:25 in the Youtube Vid). In fact whenever I play Max Payne again, I always play the Nightfever mod. (its got Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal in it!) Game characters need to dance more often.

The Max Payne Equilibrium Mod was pretty ambitious, but the gun-kata never really worked as advantageously as it did in the film.

That Simon's Quest thing looks (and sounds) impressive as hell.

That Castlevania hack looks real good, I kinda want to actually play this, is it available anywhere? Will the villagers still be lying bastards? It's all I would ask to not be changed too much.

Since this seems the de-facto thread for that Simon's Quest hack:

More music on the dude's channel.

oh shit he's got that New Messiah cover from the demo video on his page too!

Thanks for sharing that!

Some months back when rebirth adventure came out I remember asking about the Gameboy one IGA hated. I take back everything I said about story and that game (except anything I said about IGA,) looking for above mentioned nes hack that I really want to play I found this...

Congratulations! You've done it against all odds. Castlevania fanbase is officially as depressing as the Sonic the Hedgehog one.

still in love with how the cv2 hack's forest looks. really hoping for the completion of these projects.
that town track is nice; unfortunately, most of the other originals seem melodically inexplicable, and not in the good harmony of dissonance kind of way.

Reposting my Knytt Stories post from the axe since it is more likely to be seen here than buried under some argument about fucking kart racers.

Knytt Stories

these can all be had from the knytt levels archive

Spiral by Bennity is a challenging level somewhat hampered by its use of randomly deadly enemies (you know the ones I mean, the kind that result in all arbitrary deaths)

Change the View by Ble is just short of being one of my favorites. It goes too far in the direction of pixel perfect jumping and feels too artificial but the design of it is really interesting.

Level 5 by BloxMaster is fun and not nearly as hard as I expected. It has a password that I can't decipher so I'm only on level 4 of the 5.

3 Square/4 Square/Logic/Reason by Dukit are consistently clever little maze puzzles, very gamey in their environments

It Waits by Eric Colossal is a good take on horror in Knytt Stories

Harvest by Farik is different from everything else. It is the most narrative of the stories and actually has pretty decent writing. The environment is nice too.

Temple of the Sun by Fegon is a beautiful classic knytt stories level. I'm a better player than the game expected so I got to some areas earlier than intended and skipped an entire item. Its sense of place is unbeaten by anything except the Life Ruby.

Temple of Death by Harumbai is a lot of fun borderline platforming hell, I like its moxie. Bad music.

Another Journey by Imaddo is an attractive 'wandering around environments' level. Probably one of the best of its kind

Scrolly Polly by Introversity is a very classy puzzle level.

Knytt 8bits by Jerom is beautiful and impossible

The Life Ruby by Ranger X is easily the best level I have played. Even though it is merely rated "Hard", it is harder than some of the 'platforming hell' levels. I can't recommend this highly enough and I wonder why I put off playing it for so long.

Colors by rrc2soft is a pretty neat level. I played it ages ago and found it really difficult. This time I went through the main areas in a different order and found it too easy. There's an ideal path through it. It has a boss fight!

Going Left by SecretGlitch is probably impossible. I at least can't beat it, either because my reflexes are too slow or this crappy keyboard destroys my input timing. Play it for the joy of ultra hard platforming without any bullshit.

The Lecarde Chronicles is riddled with problems -- leaps of faith, poor indications of treadable surfaces, unreasonable onslaughts of enemies, a tedious final boss -- but it's strangely ambitious, with interesting environment themes, weird bosses, and a kind of progression and world design that makes me think of what Order of Ecclesia could have been if it were more and less competent in certain areas. Most of all, I'm glad there's a somewhat enjoyable Castlevania fangame that continues the officially abandoned atmospherics of SCV4. Strange that this was made by the same guy behind the absolute nightmares that were Haunted Castle 2 and 3.

Does anyone here remember what this video was before it got taken down? Or have any way of finding a mirror today?
