This game gives me the same sort of feeling I got from Disaster Report and Raw Danger as far as how navigating the world feels. I can't really place why.

There must be something subtly Irem-like about it. I keep thinking of Steambot Chronicles. Maybe because of how time passes as well as the unguided exploration.

Like I said before, it's not unplayable even with that, but I personally can't do it because of the heavy eyestrain the game is giving me.

I've been having this problem, too, but I think it's just because I stay up way too late playing the game without a break. Well, and some of the text is a little hard to read on my SD TV.

Okay what is the pink (on the map, as opposed to red) house that when you try to go into it, you're moved back to a few feet before the door?

I beat the 360 version about 4 times, but I don't have the PS3 version yet. It's a shame to hear about the technical issues it's having, but how does the combat fare compared to the first game? I've heard the controls are improved; can you move and shoot now?

The new suits aren't even new items added in there with the old ones, they're just added in by some half-assed hack type method where you pick one of the new ones to replace the old "business" suit with. It's bugged though, I seem to have lost the business suit permanently. I switched it to the stupid gamespot suit, saw it was ugly, tried to switch back to the business one and now it's some bright red floral print suit instead.

Haha nice. My code from amazon for the "field ops" suit is invalid. I guess I'll just forget about it.

The new cutscenes feel kind of similarly tacked on in that they only seem to be there to promote/hint at a sequel.

The code may need to be enabled somehow? I emailed customer service over the weekend and got a response saying they were working on it. I tried redeeming it again last night and it worked. :s

And the field ops suit is also pretty ugly, just a fur (?) coat/jacket over a white t-shirt with "I AM FBI" text. The description says "Attack power, health x3" but it doesn't seem any different from the "Passion Red" suit functionally (some extra health but not 3x as much)

Now I'm glad my code didn't work.

That fight in the theater at the end was really something. I'm glad things took a turn for the bizarre like that.

Can you kill the "zombified" townspeople when you're approaching the theater, and if you do will they be permanently gone? I also never tried just randomly attacking a normal person in the game. I assume that either nothing happens or you get an Investigation Failure.

Regular people just duck and cringe if you aim at or shoot them and you get your pay docked. Believe me, I emptied a few magazines into Kaysen in the hotel out of anger.

The downloadable PS3 version is on sale this week for USD $6, for anyone who might be interested.

So are Dead Space 1 and 2, incidentally.

I've heard the game's combat is shitty and unbalanced. Should i play the game on easy and just enjoy the atmosphere and "wackiness" or keep it on normal despite its shortcomings?

The later PC and PS3 versions of the game remove the ability to select difficulty. They can only be played on Easy.
