cave story author pixel has made another old (1997) game available for download. called "JiLJiL", this game involves steering a blue kittensnake into a large bisected lemon as many times as possible before its tail gets stamped on by giant, sinister pawprints.

"06/12/06
Concern about my old data led me to look through one of my backup CDs from 1999. Seeing all my half-finished CG and MIDI data was very nostalgic. For old times' sake, I patched up an old game of mine from October 1997 called 'JiLJiL' and put it up in the storehouse. It was the era when I was just getting the hang of DirectX."

in case you missed it, pixel also composed music for shine shine galaxy, a freeware release by BA2. it's a swell little game where you try to line up evil space cats to eliminate as many as possible with your limited supply of missiles. the title screen might be just post-modern enough for some of you.
