Just quickly: Cladun has improved, but still bizarre why it takes so long just to unlock what I really wanted out of it which was the random dungeons.
I almost wanna say it plays if Cadash were a Gauntlet Clone but noooot quite. I wish I could find the right thing to liken it to.
(actually never mind, rewatching Cadash, not like it at all.

| Resident Evil Mercenaries is great in handheld form. Well, I'm only saying that because I've been playing it a lot more than the console versions. But, you know, good times. |

I have less than 50 pigeons left to shoot in GTA IV. Been using a map of their locations so I know I'm not going to miss any unlike the last time I attempted this on 360 where I shot what I thought was the last one and the game informed me I still had one left and I had no idea where it was.
After I get done doing those I'm going to do the stunt jumps and then maybe the vigilante/Most Wanted missions or the races for Brucie. Haven't been focusing on the story much except for the random people you meet on the street.
Also I experienced my missing textures/geometry glitch again on one of my recent play sessions. It happened after I had been playing for over an hour or so and had just taken a spin in a helicopter. I think what's happening is if I move through the game world too fast (like in a helicopter or a really fast vehicle) just flying by everything it causes my computer to struggle to keep up and it ends up unable to load all the textures and stuff in time. So I get invisible geometry. That's just a guess though. It could be my GPU or something overheating.
I figured out how to solve this problem in-game though. What I did was I hailed a taxi when it happened and warped to a faraway safe house location. This forced the game to reload everything and when I appeared at my location it was all back to normal. I saved and exited the game for a while just in case it was an overheating issue. So far everything's been normal since though I haven't had any real marathon multi-hour sessions with the game either. So who knows. It seems to stay fairly stable as long as I don't push things too hard.
After I'm finished getting 100% in all the GTA IV games I'm going to want to keep coming back to them just to walk around the city with the hud turned off and one finger on the screenshot key. It's seriously one of the most fun virtual environments to just be in.
Also I grabbed Bully from the Steam sale. This is the third time I purchased that game. This one I'm going to 100% as well at some point. Runs smooth and looks great but there seems to be a graphical filter applied to everything that gives it all a slightly washed-out look. I'm going to see if there's a way to disable that or something. _________________

I'm sure it was obvious to everyone but me, but Cladun is absolutely not worth your time or money.
Essentially, the random dungeons are pretty good, but to get to anything worthwhile in this game, you have to unlock it first by going through the soul crushingly awful main story, which has set levels. Most of these are dull at best but usually just obnoxious, playing on weird hit detection.
I came to a large boss like thing that came down not to maneuvering so much as, can I just sit on it's side and will I survive? Hit and run or dodge didn't work because it already had an attack that you couldn't get out of the way of fast enough, and I like to play a speedy character! Range doesn't work because it's melee attack has better range.
Suddenly the arcade gimmic of the game was gone and it became stand here and slash. Just like a turn based roguelike, hit forward. keep hitting forward on that boss to hit him... Do you have enough hp? You win.
Oh yeah, certain unmarked enemies are keys to locked doors, Zelda dungeon style. Usually it tends to be a single monster in a room with many. The problem is that when you kill it, this huge annoying WIN graphic fills most of the screen for a few seconds, while stuff is still attacking you and gold coins spill everywhere. You can't pause in dungeons.
If you ever wanted to see if pathetic space aliens could design a roguelike, well, here you go! It is an entire game that says fuck sensibility!

Anyone who complains that video games are too short these days needs to play Alice: Madness Returns. I swear at no point during this game's development did someone say, "Maybe we should take this part out."
It's all here. Everything. I don't even know this for a fact but it has to be true.
A played one chapter last night.
It took me almost four hours. There is one chapter left.
My god. |

Q: what's up with the Right-Cut Scroll? it says it teaches what i'm assuming is Right Assault, but i can't use or equip it, and the skill didn't show up for Marco or anything. |
There's a guy who is looking for those scrolls and will teach a character that skill in exchange for it. He's in one of the towns although I can't remember which one at this time. It's been at least a month since I last played (other games demanding attention).
I tended to use the core three, mainly because Rosch is just heavy hitting and the other two helped rearrange the field, added Poison which seemingly never becomes useless, and Regeneration which is amazing. I can see some use for Aht because she can still heal and has trap effects to overwrite good ones (at least, that's my hope) laid on the field, so she can change in and out with Marco. |

Just started Radiant Historia got to say it's the DS RPG of 2011 to play. Having a lot more fun with it than Dragon Quest VI which was just ARRGGGHHH. Seriously don't play VI. The stories aren't as good as VII and about halfway through the game it goes, "Alright, just go...I don't know..do whatever." Then it's like the game design/writers leave the building. Then you're just left with LEVELING in DRAGON QUEST.
Personally I like leveling towards some sort of goal.
Hopefully I can convince myself to sell the game instead of forcing myself to beat it when their are MUCH BETTER games in existence. _________________ My Hawt Blog Vita Games

| Thanks for the encouragement 1994! As probably expected I made it through the prologue and am now super hooked on Persona 4. Now I am officially getting stressed out about which of my Fake Video Game Friends to hang out with over the others. Of "People In My Group" I like Chie by far the best so far, with Yosuke as a dumb jerk and Yukiko as a docile submissive fighting it out for People I Never Want To Hang Out With. So far Dojima is my favorite dude to kick it with, actually. I "spoke frankly" with him right before my mid-terms. My Drama Club GF kinda creeps me out, but I picked her over the band girl cause at least she doesn't look 9. |

Ghost Dinosaur the Drama girl is great fun because there's literally drama all the time with her Social Link. I think Persona likened it to a Korean TV drama in the P4 sticky _________________

band girl sounds 10 years younger than nanako, and i was pretty interested in how her story panned out. temperance, fortune & the sun drama link are the only ones i haven't maxed so i still have some stuff to see in persona 4 the video game
i kinda feel like i'm going to just play persona 3 portable only soon & just ditch persona 3 fes, but i'm also really tired and i could say anything and pretend it's how i really feel _________________ kirakira no yume no naka de / bokutachi wa yakusoku wo shita ne

Was going to play some Dungeon Magic/Lightbringer last night on that Taito compilation disk when I had a moment of joy: I completely forgot that the disk had Darius Gaiden on it. I knew it had G Darius but... I played Gaiden instead.
Never played it, but knew of that amazing amazing Visionnerz song, so that was rectified. I credit fed it to the end but didn't feel too bad because I didn't spend nearly as many credits as I expected to - just the instant-fire, stuff I couldn't have known parts where an arcade machine decides it's time to pay up. It was fun as hell, enough that I started another game on another path.
Dumb as this sounds, I've never said that about a Darius game because all I've played are console versions (though I haven't touched G yet.) The ones played were really lackluster.
Then I played Dungeon Magic and remembered again how sluggish it plays. Want to love it but it's annoying getting caught on crap because of the viewpoint. |

7,548 is a pretty depressing number for this game. I didn't buy it, but I liked the demo a lot. I just have too much else to play.

Suddenly felt like playing Torchlight a bit. I have a berserker warrior dude around level 50 or so and I stopped playing some time last year because I beat the game and gained access to the Shadow Vault, where the quests seemed a little buggy or something. Like, I just wouldn't find a boss I was supposed to kill, or whatever. I guess the dungeon eventually reset or something, but after clearing a couple more floors I've encountered the same problem: this goblin is asking me to kill Kulag the Great and bring back an Epic Strongbow (I guess, since the rest of his wording is all goblin gibberish), but I've killed everything and now I'm like, oops, did I send my pet back with an Epic Strongbow to sell...? It was probably just a white item or something. No idea. So now there's a quest I can't complete. Whatever, I guess if I play any more I won't worry about the quests. Maybe I should play with my druid/warlock hybrid guy instead. I was having fun with him. _________________

Yeah regarding Radiant Historia I've got a PM somewhere about how awful the 5 twig fetchquest was (the followup was a little bit less irritating because finding explosives in a fort makes some kind of narrative sense and I didn't have to deal with enemy encounters on top of scouring an area.) Those two are still the dumbest points in the game. Writing is kind of taking a dip around the 20 hour mark, now it really feels like a 90s psx jrpg.
Right Cut Scroll: Go to Alternate History Chapter 1 or 2 I think, go to the room to the right of elevator and talk to the soldier on the left? He'll train your party members. Teach them all those extremely useful moves. _________________

iPhone KOF doesn't run at 60fps, but it feels much more solid than iPhone SF4 did to me. It's still impossible to do actual joypad motions on it, though, which is a shame because you need to do some of them to complete combos even in Simple Moves mode. The combo training does suggest actual viable (though not optimal) combos that would work in the arcade version of 13, so that's something. Also, it has Billy Kane. _________________

I feel similarly about Persona 4 but the only thing keeping me away is that awful dungeon exploring theme. If I could somehow replace that with a not-awful song I'd probably still be playing the game right now and never post on SB again until I was done.
You should've done this, SB. You could've saved yourselves from me.
EDIT: Whoa I don't even remember writing this.

See it's not just a doom clone even if all the former iD employees talk about it like it is. It was pretty fundamentally new territory. (Episode 4 is still the best vanilla Quake episode) _________________
