Space Raiders is a version of Invaders where you steer a guy with a gun left and/or right instead of a ship. Aside from some of the most lovably inane line-readings since Raw Danger I guess there's not much to recommend above any other version, though the avatar suggests how much Space Invaders begat PN03 begat Resident Evil 4 begat Gears of War begat everything.
...I have zero interest in Gears 3 and the Gamecube has become my main shooters console, what the hell happened to me. |

So let's talk about how much I hate Bayonetta.
The proper 3d action game is ultimately about discovery, exploration and refinement of the combat engine. It's like a fighting game with none of that icky interaction with other living people. I don't know how others achieve this but for me this actual objective of catharsis must be sifted, extracted from the game's other elements; typically this is achieved at a certain point where everything clicks and I can just see past whatever embarrassing shit is actually happening on screen and I can just enjoy the game on the game's terms without dealing with the nonsense story or nonsense anything else.
1.10x plays through Bayonetta and that "click" has not happened. Meanwhile I'm pretty sure that I've seen everything this game has to offer, eg. a shitload of QTEs and an utterly, marvelously repulsive aesthetic - to the point where a good amount of the difficulty comes from literally not being able to discern what is happening onscreen, which maybe trumps the stick inversion gag as things game planners should get stabbed for - which is to say, getting to the point where this game would actually be playable is probably just never going to happen.
I can't find an angle on playing past the game which is frustrating since plenty of others apparently did. Comparisons to Godhand seem kinda desperate but such is videogames I guess? |

Final Fantasy XIII is probably the worst videogame I have ever played in a long bitter life of playing bad videogames
The characters are revolting, the gameplay is a qte you can't fail, the tutorial is so slow it stops time and loops back on itself
The only thing stopping me from snapping the disc in half is that apparently ten no twenty no thirty hours from now it'll actually be tolerable! Ten or twenty hours represents cumulative weeks of leisure because I am a grownup adult whom has to work hard to not die so spending all intermittent free time with these awful meatholes just sounds soooo not great
The only people who could possibly like this game are those whom have had their entire disillusioned twenties to sell themselves on the prospect of needing this kind of bullshit to revive some sort of childhood wonder which is v sad but not as much as actually playing this |
