I was sure there was a Binding of Isaac thread in the KoP at one point. It seems to be gone now though. Am I just misremembering here?

There was one in the Recycle Bin, so it must have been in the Axe. I don't see anything axey about it, so I've transfered it to KOP.

it's here:

I'll leave you to bump it.

ok neat. almost certain this was a KoP topic at one point. not sure I have anything to really add to it though.

Asked this to no avail in the Games Played thread so:

What are some good games playable in MAME that are best played with this flight stick I just found? Even has a little analogue lever for controlling throttle and such. So far it's just been a lot of After Burner and a bit of Space Harrier.

Are PSOne games that are bought off the PSN in euroland the usually inferior PAL-versions?

thanks TTF. I guess the fact there even is an import section at all of US-only games is something one should be thankful of at this point

So, bSNES.

All I really want is an SNES emulator that allows me to scale the picture to exactly 5x the original screen size at 4:3 and it seems like bSNES is the only way to do this. My laptop just isn't cutting it though. That is unless I compile my own version with a "Performance"-profile set which seems to have similar requirements to Snes9x. Now sure, I could make this my first little foray into the wonderful world of source code (have already run into my first problem of the link to a very specific version of DirectX that is required being dead) but has nobody on the entire Internet actually not already made these binaries available somewhere for my convenience?

Furthermore, it seems like some of the more asinine features of the program (such as requiring all ROM-files to be "cleaned" and removing software filters) were only implemented after a version 071. Now if I'm reading this correctly it seems like all that will actually go away if I just compile this thing with something called qt Interface. Only problem is that I first got to compile that thing too and to do that I need to download at least 2 other dependencies and...

From what I've read it seems like unless you have the most expensive flash cart which comes with its own internal battery (and drains more power in sleep mode as a result or something) you'll need a regular DS as well so you can keep updating the firmware of the cart whenever Nintendo release another pirate-combating update. I've been sort of wondering though if you could maybe buy a defective DS for cheap (like with a cracked screen or something, maybe one that won't even boot properly) since all the cart seems to need is that little power from the slot and it will take care of the rest itself. This is all just speculation on my part though.

Yeah, I tried RetroArch some time ago and "terrible interface" almost seems like an understatement. I guess I'll give it one more try at least.

sort of also in hope someone could translate it for me.

The witch there sends you on fetch quests in the original version but here she just seems to give you items OR DOES SHE? I dunno, which is why I was wondering.

Just as I was suspecting. Thanks again! God this game is kicking my ass though. I think I'm liking this Kai version a bit more so far.

So I've been watching the TBFP playthrough of Way of the Samurai 4. Now while I like some of the concepts I'm seeing here and kind of wish to try it myself I was just wondering if the previous entries in the series are maybe more... refined?

Could some give me a quick run-down on how PSN purchases on PSP work? Is pretty much like Steam where it's all tied to my account and I can download and install at any time? Any special Sony weirdness worth noting?

So I wanna make a US PSN account, which state should I be in? Because I remember when helping out with a friend's US 3ds it asked specifically for the state so it could determine the amount of VAT added to prices. Is this something that even affects PSN prices?

So this is probably a bit of a long shot but does anyone know how the PSP port of Way of the Samurai is in comparison to the English PS2 version? It seems like there's a mostly complete translation patch for it and I've always wanted to give the games a try but will probably be without my PS2 for quite a while at least.

I know its come up before but how do you make MAME relatively user friendly? Want to set it up for a very much less then tech-savvy friend here.

Been going through some GBA games I missed out on lately. Was looking up hacks of various games and came across this for Metroid: Zero Mission:

http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/750/

There are two hacks included there. One that completely disables the in-game map and one that only disables "the hidden item location markers" (like missile expansions then?). Having neither played the original Metroid or this version before, would anyone be able to weigh in on whether they think this would be an improvement or not?

All I can think of are the various Source mods they host as well Codename: Gordon (technically delisted now but still downloadable from direct link)

Somebody needs to have played Remember Me. Because I've watched a video and this seems important. It seems to have some sort make-a-combo system like in God Hand albeit a lot more limited.

Is Trails in the Sky a yay or a nay?

It's on sale in the EU PSN store now.

Couldn't you switch back and forth between which monitor should be the primary and the secondary? I've got shortcut pinned to my task bar the does this for me.

If you really need to buy something now there's always their web-based store which seems to be up. They have an absolutely pathetic summer sale going here in Europe right now for instance!

I've heard people speak of "sim" mech games before. Could anybody give me a few examples of these?
