Yeah it can be a bit hard to find (and expensive). I've actually bought two copies in local Gamestops though (one for me and one for a friend).
If you live in the US and near any Gamestops, your best bet is to use the Gamestop game locator to find a copy at a local store.
http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=73018
it'll also probably be the best price. |
The closest store to me has used copies, but I'd have to drive like 30 miles to get a new one.
Man, you can't even choose the option to keep DQ5 from Gamefly. Nuts! |

Is used so bad? I don't think I've even seen a new copy in a store :0 how much would Gamefly normally charge for something like that? You wouldn't get a box or anything with that, would you? I've never used Gamefly. |
Used is fine if it's in good condition. I hate when boxes and manuals are all manky, which is often par the course with the majority of the used selection at GameStop. If you even get a box and manual to begin with.
Gamefly is generally pretty good, though. I've purchased games from them that were no more than a month old at about $20 less than the new price. And yeah, they send you the box and manual. |

And, just as I feared, the one used copy I managed to find in the area was in a generic case with no instruction manual.
Who the fuck loses/tosses DS cases?! |

Oddly enough some Gamestops themselves toss out the DS cases so they can shove the carts into that tiny little glass shelf they used for all the other portable games.
It was only easier to get away with when they all came in those flimsy cardboard cases. I made a quick buck dumpster diving for that stuff for some of the completionists nerds some years ago |
That doesn't make any sense. The empty boxes get displayed out on the floor, so how would they interfere with the carts being in the glass case? Especially since the majority of the used DS games they have in stock have the actual cases, anyway.
I thought I'd be able to find an empty DQV DS box and manual on ebay. No such luck. |

| Also, since I'm already really digging Dragon Quest V and I loved Dragon Quest VIII, should I give Dragon Quest IV a shot? |

Flower becomes significantly less fun in the level where there is an actual objective and you start taking "damage" and whatnot. When it becomes a video game, I guess.
Oh, hey, I guess I said that already! |

Lost Odyssey isn't so lucky; the second post-tutorial boss is two absurdly overpowered, identical sandworms fought in immediate succession. They use full-party-damaging poison attacks every chance they get. This wouldn't be so bad, if LO wasn't the only JRPG I'm aware of where poison actually inflicts significant damage. Of course you can levelgrind, but the game sometimes refuses to send random encounters your way for no apparent reason, even if you run around for three minutes. |
Thank god! I thought I was the only one who found that battle ridiculously difficult. The problem is you can't really grind in Lost Odyssey cos there's a level cap for each area. It gets to a point where even if you do come across a random encounter, you ain't gettin' much experience out of it. |

| And yes, you CAN use the old HDD in the 360 S, despite what anyone else says. You have to crack open the old enclosure and remove the HDD. From there, the sata and power ports will fit snugly into the drive bay in the 360 S, with some effort. |
That's still a "no" to me, but that's only because I wouldn't bother doing that. |

| Yeah, but I'm silly and would just rather transfer the data over to the new drive than risk mucking something up. Cos I would. Having a bigger hard drive doesn't hurt, either, since I download a lot of stuff and install most games that I play. |

I should be able to use my PSN account on my PSP, right? There's even an option right there on the PSP that says "use an existing account."
It ain't working, though. |

Nah, I just changed my PSN password. Everything is fine now. I don't have a USB cable that'll fit in the PSP, anyway.
A better question -- even though it's probably a dumb one -- can I transfer memory stick data to another memory stick? |

I was working with the 32MB memory stick that came with the original PSP for years, but I was only using it for game saves. Then I got the MGS Peace Maker bundle and that came with a 2GB memory stick, and I just now realised that a lot of PSP games are available for download on PSN. Though I have to wonder why I'd download anything instead of just buying the UMD when the prices are pretty much the same...
So yeah, I was thinking about dumping everything onto one stick. I should probably invest in a bigger one if I plan on downloading anything, though. I dunno. |

Make sure you've downloaded the free game vouchers first. They're the first item you see in the list of games, and you have to download a voucher for each free game.
I mean, you probably already figured that out, but it didn't make any sense to me that I had to click the same damn icon twice in order to get each game.
Otherwise, yeah: account management > transaction management > services list, and then you'll see the SCEA promotional thing in there. |

I somehow ended up with $52 in my PSN wallet. I must have added points without realising I already had points left over. Aside from Dino Crisis 2 and Threads of Fate, I have no clue what else to do with this money. I considered Arcana Heart 3, but no one is going to play it with me. I scanned thru the PSN exclusive stuff, but nothing really screams out to me.
So, I mean, what exactly does the PS Store have? |

I've hated every version that I've played. Even when I was an easily impressed youth and saw it in the arcades for the first time, I just never grasped the appeal. Same goes for Golden Axe.
I still have a soft spot for the original Shinobi, though. |

| What's up with cut scene dialogue being so much louder than in-game dialogue? This seems like a new trend, but maybe I'm just noticing it now. Catherine was the first game I played where I noticed it. |
