Doesn't mean you have to approach it like you're min/maxing for an mmorpg. _________________

Some months back, I designed a really cool little 20 page freebee guidebook for this called 'Starting Your Dragon Quest Adventure' along with a little standee for it.
If you guys see it out in the wild, take a picture of it for me! |

Yeah, I was coming to complain about the attempted use of dialects. Why the fuck does this succubus have an indeterminate faux irish/scottish accent?
Why does the ganguro fairy talk like Yangus?
Should I be pissed at Nintendo or Square Enix? They could have used the people that did Paper Mario 2 or DQ8 and things would have been peachy. _________________

There's some really sad parts in this game.
The doll that came to life and assumed the persona of her deceased owner. |
It's reminding a lot of Dragon Quest 7, where the focus is on each town's (often tragic) problems and the hero's quest is less important. _________________

4. Speaking of no loot - that they removed treasures/special enemies from the world map is a travesty. Hunting for both was a high point of DQ8. |
Have you not noticed the sparklies on the field map? _________________

the game stopped being an action RPG not too long after it was announced and people went nuts (in the bad way).
just beat the boss after reaching Alltrades Abbey. so i'm sure i'll find out when i turn the DS on again, but how does switching vocations work in this game? do you keep prior skills etc., or is it like starting from square 1? if the latter, what's the purpose? |
Class skills and bonuses transfer to every other class. Not sure if you can use weapon skills with other types of weapons. But if you switch to another class that can use that same weapon you can still use them or if you put 100 pts into a weapon skill you can use that weapon type with any other class. Spells arent transferred between classes. _________________
