I couldn't get into the original SC as a kid. Didn't have the mentality for RTS back then.

Beta hits, and after being drilled by my roommate for about an hour and just watching a simple build order video, I'd say I'm doing ok. Just all the additions that Blizzard added from the original to WC3 to SC2 makes it infinitely more accessible to casual level play. I'm particularly interested in what Blizzard is going to do for their in-game tutorials for the "my first RTS" crowd.

If you're just starting, just go for MMM as Terran. Pretty unstoppable against lower level play. Just watch out for muta/void ray massing. Noob killers for sure.

I believe that Terran v Terran is currently the worst mirror match you can get. I'm just so irritated at the sheer amount of people who main Terran right now that I might just start using a different race. You can't poke with bio, because they have siege tanks. You can't harass with Banshees because they have turrets.

My roommate suggests slowing inching across the map and placing turrets. Either that, or very early Maruader push to destroy their first tank and kill whatever turtling momentum they have going.

Had a utterly humiliating and hilarious terran v terran today.
I decided to go all in with reapers and destroyed his economy. Unfortunately, he already went all marauders and destroyed my base. Thankfully, he did not see my secrect expo and starport, where I decided to go banshees and continually destroy his SCVs and bring his mineral count to zero. I'm sure the guy was fairly angry judging from the chat.
