I wanted to care about it, but now there are enough games (Vanquish, F1 2010, Dead Rising 2, Drive SF, ico/sotc HD) on the horizon that keep me busy till next summer. And, that torrent-beta client-thing aside, never saw it mentioned anywhere. _________________

One night I'll turn down the lights, take my gravest pair of audiophile headphones from their handcrafted hardwood case and basking in the soft glow of artisan tube amplification I will listen to the soundtracks that came with Demon's Souls and Yakuza 3. |

Hey so I actually have it (only the CE is out now, which I got as a birthday present, the perfect way to avoid blame).
So far I really kind of like it. It's the first MMO I've played where you aren't thrust into a big dumb wilderness with quest markers. |

OH MAN. I haven't actually listened to the soundtrack, maybe I should dig it out. But I hope it's the soundtrack that's entirely remixes by industry greats. _________________ My Hawt Blog Vita Games

Does it feel like a FF? Moogles and Chocobos on every corner or did they (finally) decicde to skip that … feel free to tell more if you want to. I couldn't get into the FF11 beta because of download taking 20000 years, and didn't get into the beta of 14. Kinda interested whether it'll turn out to be the next "MMO I wanted to play but never did". _________________

Ron Gilbert has joined Double Fine
A mild, whispy froth with some trepidation provided they actually finish their games for once.
Also, hilarity coming from the latest Edge where Kottick accuses EA of smothering studios, calling West and Zampella extortionists and Tim Schafer of being late and missing every milestone.
He is now the Michael O' Leary of videogames. |

EA's reply:
| Quote: |
Jeff Brown, EA's vice president of communications, didn't hold back when asked for comment, slinging mud at Activision's Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, and World of Warcraft franchises in the process.
"Kotick's relationship with studio talent is well documented in litigation," Brown said, referring to Activision's latest lawsuit with developer Infinity Ward over the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare franchise and previously with Double Fine over Brutal Legend.
"His company is based on three game franchises – one is a fantastic persistent world he had nothing to do with; one is in steep decline; and the third is in the process of being destroyed by Kotick's own hubris." |

Tim Schafer put the boot back in as well
| Quote: |
Speaking exclusively to Eurogamer, Schafer responded to Kotick, calling his comments "sad".
"It's sad is that instead of just insulting me personally, he goes after the product of my hard-working team - a group of people he almost put out of work a while back," Schafer said.
"But what's even sadder is that it took him two months to think of a comeback." |
Inafune gettin' mouthy. Kottick provoking everyone in sight.
How on earth did this industry get so entertaining so quickly?
I suppose you rapscallions want some news too. Fine.
Sumo Digital are making more games for Sega, including, possibly, another racer alongside some sort of Kinect or Move game for MS or Sony and Doctor Who Season 2 for the BBC
Its probably Sega All-Stars Racing 2 though. |

This is what Schafer was responding to, FYI:
| Quote: |
"The guy comes out and says I'm a prick," Kotick told the latest issue of Edge magazine.
"I've never met him in my life – I've never had anything to do with him. I never had any involvement in the Vivendi project that they were doing, Brütal Legend, other than I was in one meeting where the guys looked at it and said, 'He's late, he's missed every milestone, he's overspent the budget and it doesn't seem like a good game. We're going to cancel it.'
"And do you know what? That seemed like a sensible thing to do. And it turns out, he was late, he missed every milestone, the game was not a particularly good game..." |
Executive for a games publisher has concerns like "you're over budget, keep missing the schedule, and your game isn't shaping up well." Industry-destroying film at 11.
Not saying I like how Activision handled the whole Brutal Legend affair, what with the lawsuits and all, but Schafer might want to stop acting quite so deeply offended in public, it's not doing him any favours. _________________

I'm up for that. The Mario Kart/Outrun 2 combo was great. Just add some more track variety and tone down the Billy Hatcher because who the hell asked for that much Billy Hatcher. |

I don't know I'm always excited when these games first come out then I spend a week with them and all the little things that are slightly off get under my skin and depress the hell out of me. They need a budget and some actual Sega people I guess. |

The little things really let that game down in the end like some of the course design not being particularly great, frame rate drops and inexplicable bursts to 60FPS (That's just teasing, you gits). The DLC they put out was quality though. Death Egg Zone is the lost AM2 track.
Though it gets all the bonus points in the world from me because its the only kart game since the fucking dawn of time to actually give you invincibility frames post hit weapon hit so you don't get stun locked by mountains of bullshit just because you are in first.
More of these good ideas in the sequel, if its being made, please. And Ristar. And Vyse. And Segata Sanshiro and... |

i want sumo to make an outrun game in which all the stages are locations from sega games. you might think this is pointless while all-star racing exists, but i don't care.
i also want them to make a big sega crossover beat em up. but not for a few years so i have time to graduate and work there first _________________

Guys, looks like Sonic 4 Episode 1 is coming on October 13th for Xbox 360 for 1200 Points. Of course it also comes out for PS3 but I don't know the price yet, will obviously the same, just in dollars.
The Wii version will come out on October 15th for 1500 Points and the lol iPhone version will come out on October 7th, which is, as you may noticed, a few a days before the other versions.
So yeah... |

Yeah, I'm glad I already have that on discs and don't feel tempted.
Also, I read that the GOG .exe is not compatible with the popular and freaking gorgeous widescreen mod for high res displays. |

| I'd be willing to sell my physical copy of Planescape if someone wants it (if I can find it...). It doesn't have a pretty box or anything, and the jewel case never even had any artwork on it, but it is totally legit and all that. |

Famitsu is currently live blogging the Nintendo 2010 conference.
Things I've picked out (haven't checked Kotaku for their interpretation):
Super Mario Collection?
Last Story 1.21.11 (wii, mistwalker JRPG)
Want to focus on AR (Alternate Reality?) games?
Gameboy Virtual Console!
Play classic games IN THREEEE-DEEEEEEE
Connect to your Wii for automatic updates (yay.)
| Coming games, translated wrote: |

Isn't Love Plus played by holding the DS on the side? Thought the whole 3d thing didn't work then. I guess from the trailer that there seems to be a lot of flipping around with the thing though.
EDIT:
Holy crap! Was that a new Rhythm Heaven 1:40 here?

I've talked about this before, but you know those forced turret parts? You're in a turret and you have to mow down enemies. Only the enemies are either so far away they're the size of ants - even on an HD screen - and you can barely see them or hit them, or they're right up next to the turret right below where you're allowed to aim.
There's no way to defend this, it's just not done well. It was clearly part of the grand design (which isn't too bad, overall) but was never properly implemented and nobody bothered to spend time improving it until it actually worked. And that's basically a metaphor for the entire game. It was never properly implemented and nobody bothered to spend time improving it until it actually worked.
Also, it's a game about Metal by someone looking in on Metal from outside and above, but that's far from its biggest sin.
