I wish I'd read this (or any of you guys' subsequent comments on Homestuck) when you first posted it.

On the other hand, I'd have been on the edge of my seat for almost a year, which is a lot more agonizing than getting to the comic late and reading the whole thing (plus Problem Sleuth) in basically one sitting.

L wrote:
If anything, I love it twice as much already, simply because of how significantly less malformed and messily conceived it is than Problem Sleuth. By which I mean, at no point in Homestuck has there been a need for one of these.

(Then again, I sense that for some people that's one of PS's major draws!)

It was inevitable, but not because Homestuck is a lopsided, cobbled-together monstrosity; rather, because its conceived form is too large for a single mind to comprehend entirely at one moment. It contains more than 7±2 ideas operating simultaneously.

I love this comic so much.

Saw it, can't wait for "Kick Ass 2: Kick Asser"

I calling it now that KA2's plot will aim to insult the audience that enjoyed the first movie.

Brian Clevinger, in an amazing show of spectacle and reverence, just suddenly announced that the 8-Bit Theater strip he posted two weeks ago is actually the last one ever. (The last one, he says, unless he tosses a final epilogue strip onto the pile at some point.) (He won't.)

"The weight of this sad time we must obey,
Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say.
The oldest have borne most; we that are young
Shall never see so much, nor live so long."

Good luck to him. Because that new comic of his is fucking awful. I've never been a fan of reading a comic book one page a day.

I love the trolls. I love their ridiculous typing methods, and I'm delighted every time a new one appears. Maybe I just enjoy storytelling that appropriates astrological concepts for arbitrary purposes.

I'm beginning to appreciate how much of this webcomic's jokes are supported by its visuals.

Gingerbread Houses does the whole dark take on fairy tales thing good because it's not just a ridiculous exageration of the source material (like most interpretations of Alice In Wonderland)

His actual real published comic is fantastic. Atomic Robo just keeps getting better and better. I can't really fault him on his web stuff is lacking if the published stuff continues to maintain such a high quality.

Clevinger is pretty hilarious, which is why it's kind of a shame that 8-bit Theater became kind of a template for lazy, unfunny webcomic artists everywhere. It's also a shame that the first couple hundred comics are pretty weak, and are basically straight ripoffs of Simpsons jokes. Once the comic hit its stride it became one of my favorites out there, but it takes a pretty heavy investment for new readers to figure out what's so great about it. Even reading through the archives now, reading some of the comics for the 5th or 6th time, some of them still make me literally laugh out loud. HIKYM doesn't seem bad, exactly, but it's a totally different style and I don't think it's figured out what it wants to be yet. Atomic Robo, on the other hand, is flat out great. I don't read a lot of print comics, but this is one that I will definitely be following as long as he puts out new stuff.
