| Not asking this as a "gotcha!!", just curious because I can't think right now also I'm hardly the most FPS-literate guy here, but how many notable console FPS games haven't had limited weapons in a good while now anyway? |

| I did think of Half-Life, but I don't know if we could call that a console FPS in as much of a sense we mean the rest. |

| Oh, I did miss that "console" snuck in there. In that case, yeah. neg's right; on a pad it's just easier to have a single "weapon switch" button than using the d-pad or scrolling through a list somehow (d-pad or shoulder buttons or while paused or something). Case in point: both Bioshocks. I'm also playing New Vegas on PS3 right now and it's really awkward to map all your weapons to the d-pad and switch between them all time, every time I play it I wish I had it on PC instead. (Partially this is because New Vegas is programmed like a piece of shit and every time you switch weapons the game chunks for a second because it has to load the new weapon model. But it's also the controls.) |
right. so, as much as it may seem anathema to era of shooters it's trying to call back to, why are we holding this against bulletstorm? |

Well yeah that's what I mean.
I watched someone play the demo and it looks like you'll have more, but you have to choose a limited set before going into the level. I guess I get the impression that because of the scoring system we're supposed to be framing this maybe like we would a shmup (or maybe DMC3 or something). We pick our "ship" and with that specific set of tools push our score to the furthest possible but strictly on a level to level basis. |
