It's interesting. I don't deny that Espgaluda II, Super Castlevania IV and Final Fantasy VI are good games, but as someone who came to all of them quite a long time after their release, largely on SBDN recommendations, they really didn't move me at all. It's not that way for all old games, though — I never played Symphony of the Night until this year, again on an SBDN recommendation, and it blew me away.
Gotta try King's Field, finally. |

If there's going to be Turbografx games, is there some reason we can't have Amiga/c64/spectrum/amstrad/atari games? I would love some decent recommendations on that front.
Great website, btw.
Love the idea of a least recommended list.
When I'm suggesting new games, I find the long list of system icons pretty hard to tell apart. A text dropdown might make more sense. It could default to the last-used system. |

Also needs DOS games and Arcade games.
An advanced feature that would be really fantastic is if games from the same franchise could be stacked together underneath the highest-scored entry in that franchise. Right now my recommendation page features a few too many Civilization games. I think it might be hard to implement elegantly, but it would be great. It's more important for a videogame recommender than for a movie one.
Quite often I see a game that I haven't played but I know I would hate, and I click the 'Why?' button and it goes: 'Because you liked Half Life 2, Ocarina of Time, and Super Mario 64'. I'm like, did anyone NOT recommend those games? Is it possible there is a data loophole here? Universal acclaim is another thing that makes games a bit different than movies.
Does your algorithm take negative valence into account right now, or is it everything taken as a degree of positive? If I give a game one star, it's because I hated it. One thing I always felt was missing from the Netflix system was that it didn't respond to this. I want to see things like "Other people who hated Halo liked Jagged Alliance 2", for example.

Heh, that is truer than most Speccy owners would like to admit, but not quite true enough. I would still recommend Quazatron, Alien 8, The Sentinel, Saboteur, and Turbo Esprit. Maybe Skool Daze. Really Alien 8 is one of the all time classics on any system. |

| Would it be hard to make it say 'Because you hated...' instead of 'Because you loved...' in these cases? |

Yeah, you could be right.
Hopefully I managed to push through a few new users from Twitter. Else what is twitter good for? |

| I'm not the one submitting it, so don't worry about it. |
