Persona, you should tell Alex you know this COOL GUY called nothingxs and hey he's friends with Mike Z too imagine that. He can announce!
I wonder if he'd suddenly think there was a conspiracy!
Anyways I should've told Mike that if and when guys start making it into the game to keep me in mind for some of the ideas. _________________ select button

| Arc System Works is doing a PS360 fighter based on the Nurarihyon no Mago anime (it'll skip arcades). Don't think there's any videos yet. |

It looks like one of those anime tie-in fighters with jumping around in stages and a tug-of-war lifebar, which makes me extremely wary. _________________

Here's a screenshot:
Yeah, I think you're right. Just another Smash Bros-style anime fightman. The rings of character heads in the HUD are curious, though...could it be a selector for assist supers? |

There are a lot more (and clearer) screens up here. Hard to say much of anything from them except "I wouldn't get hyped." _________________

i imagine animating 2d fighting games doesn't really have anything to do with what kicks look like in real life. especially the "crouching attack" part. _________________ -pat m.

There has to be some degree of reality, otherwise a lack of a convincing action can play with the suspense of disbelief. So whilst it's okay for something like a spinning piledriver to go unchecked, something as basic as a kick should look relatable, or at least have the player not change limb size in the action. |

The worst part about playing sf4 online so late at night is that everyone else sucks HARD.
And I'm gonna main Twelve in 3sO, assuming I can resist the allure of thick chick chun. _________________

It's what, 3 years late? I'm so happy though. I hope my X-box doesn't melt from how awesome this is. Guys, we got KOF 98, 2k2 and 13, Garou, MVC2, Third Strike and now VF5FS all on one system. These are truly amazing times we live in. Is there anything else we need. An XBLA port of KOF 11 maybe?
So this fall, we're all playing KOF 13 together and then next summer we'll be all about some Final Showdown, right? _________________

I am so pumped. I can't wait for stupid Tekken vs Virtua Fighter arguments to start up again.
It seems Sega still doesn't think it'll do well enough to warrant a physical release. |

Arc System Works really needs to make an XBLA version of Accent Core with the Blazblue netcode already. Then we will have the ultimate fightmans box. _________________

They were supposed to announce it at Evo. Apparently Sega got cold feet, or somehow thought the timing was wrong... or didn't think it'd make a whole lot of sense seeing as how they didn't have anything ready for the event itself.
It's still not going to happen at Evolution unless the VF scene grows larger than 50 people who are willing to travel.
KOF XIII is in the same boat. If the scene looks alive and the netcode is serviceable, expect it to stick. _________________ select button

How didhey not have anything ready for the event? It's a two year old arcade game. They could have just brought a cab or two. Even now they are just reusing one of the old trailers. _________________

More like SRK illuminaughty, heh
Also in the most unfortunate release slot, MK Kollection next week on XBLA, PSN soon after. 800 spacebucks to you fine people.
And 3SOE Is out right now on PSN.

I believe they have to be networked up at all times which is why no one brought over cabs to the US unlike SSF4 AE or BBCS2 (Which I think only just needed to be connected once to be authenticated). So getting cabs over and disabling a core feature in time might have been too much hassle as well. _________________

The SF4 beta machines had to be networked at all times (I'd know since I diagnosed and fixed one of them after installing the new version of the beta at 2008, augh), so I doubt that was the reason.
I'm not ENTIRELY sure what the specifics were, but I'm going to make an educated guess and note that since there was practically NO Sega involvement at the event (the event being Evolution 2011), that it wouldn't have made a whole lot of sense to announce anything at that time. _________________ select button

Didn't stop THQ from sponsoring Evo despite having no involvement, weirdly enough. But then could have been a multitude of reasons that eventually just piled up though. _________________

Yeah, it wouldn't make any sense to announce a long anticipated hard core fighting game at the biggest fighting game tournament in the US. Nobody there could have gotten excited about it or spread the word. _________________

I believe they were talking about a Darkstalkers online version?
Anyway, I can forgive Sega for not doing a physical release of VF5:FS, since it IS an upgrade of a five-year-old game. Which is already ancient history in a lot of gamers' brains. If you'll remember, the PS3 release of Tekken 5: DR was download-only. |

yes they were, but they weren't willing to cut the paycheck that team MK did. they would have had a better shot at getting WWE All-Stars recognized. _________________
