with that being said, when mine finally arrives I am going to try out block and throws the left most column and move the attacks to the center columns. That way my hand can rest in the center and it should be pretty easy to shift over to the left to hit those two. _________________

Dude, Kano's choke and shake move is hilarious!
Anyway, PSN name is leroystanks, though I'm currently in the middle of story mode. |

Sadly, they do. Ask anyone who played Borderlands on PC. _________________

MK9 is pretty neat. I'll echo the sentiments on the internet that story mode is well done. It's pretty fast paced, moving you along from one fight to next, but the cutscenes are concise and do a good job transitioning from one scene to the next while telling a continuous story. The story itself isn't anything particularly involved, but it's enough to motivate you to play what is essentially a giant ladder. I've played for 2 hours and got through the events of MK1, so it also has a decent length to it.
Oh, and the game itself is fun too. |

No play Mortal Kombat the best fighting game release of this generation. I really think so.
Capcom should be ashamed.

MK is shockingly competent, but it's still MK. I at least look forward to seeing how broken this game will end up being until it's patched into blandness. _________________

I've never been particularly down with button blocking but this new mortal kombat just clicks so well. I do not understand as I have never been an ultimate mk fan.
Just a super one. |

| They let you use SF-style command motions starting with Deception, why not put in back-blocking and let you toggle it off to the button? |

I played this for many, many hours today. Almost ready for some online sparring with SB Bros. My biggest complaint so far is that Shao Kahn is covering up DEM LEGS. _________________

Unskippable cutscenes in a fighting game, good job netherrealm.
Also the netcode is garbage, worse than mvc3 easily. _________________

You probably found out by now, but it's up on PSN for $30. I played my JP copy online with a friend who bought the US version and it worked like a charm.
$30 is a damn good price, I'd say! Playable netcode and spectator mode!? Homing dash? That shit's free! _________________

Judging by the stick thread, it's not too hard for a total electronics amateur to mod the Madcatz SE stick, right?
I may just go ahead and pick up one of those hideous WWE All-Stars sticks and mod it when the buttons inevitably wear down. |

Woops! Eyes must have glazed over that part, sorry. Yeah, I haven't seen any evidence of a US 360 release :( sucks, since download-only PS3 game is probably not the most conductive to a competitive scene.

Yep, it's pretty simple. No fussing with electronics, just screwing/unscrewing and making sure wires (which you can connect and disconnect by hand) go in the right places. Buttons may be a bit stubborn, just be firm with them! _________________

Which reminds me I don't understand the women's invitational tournament at EVO this past year. Like why this was done is baffling to me that I don't see anything but the worst reasoning. |

After watching a fatalities compilation I can't help but think that there's more than meets the eye already. Some of the other links appear different to the bog standard 2-per-character, and tend to have a dramatic slowdown-still effect that's really fucking ill.
Should be playing this later. Yes. _________________ No sir! |

The FMV is skippable if you hit B, though you have to wait for the in game part to cache in first so just mash.
But yes, shockingly competent and rather fun. Timing feels a little sticky but thats probably the MvC3 rubbing off. But very, very enjoyable (aside from the AI being a pain in the ass).
Wasn't prepared for just how shocking the fatalities are though. Its one thing seeing them in a small youtube video, but another when they are on display on a sizable TV and you see some of the results in horrible detail. Some of them are just fucked up. _________________

it has the spirit of the Midway version of Wrestlemania. I really dug how fast and ridiculous the game was. Mainly played it on the 32x so long ago. _________________

Yeah, seems like it! I actually caved in and bought it today, and dorky wrestler art aside, it feels great!
For those who have used the MadCatz SE sticks - how long have I got before the buttons go out and I gotta hit up LizardLick? I'm not super well-versed in arcade buttons and the like, but these ones feel alright?
I guess once the warranty is up or things go real rotten I'll replace the art, too.
EDIT: Also yeah, WWE All-Stars seems like a lot of fun. Not much of a wrestling fan but the game has a great feel. |

Brock: Worth mentioning that the WWE All-Stars stick is actually closer to the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Wii stick, which had much better clone parts than the SF4 SEs did. I have no idea how long they'll last you, though. _________________
