Also since you are here Persona just wondering if you can say if the UI is still temporary. One thing I hate in fighting games is if the super bar or other important info isn't at the bottom of the screen and having it beside the lifebar is kinda distracting (in my opinion anyway). Any plans for options to put it at the bottom of the screen or will it be different in the main game?

what? how is all the relevant information being in one place (--the same place every fighting game player is already trained to keep track of) distracting? i think it's a pretty elegant solution. my only concern right now would be readability (it's almost too elegant), but it's hard to tell without actually playing a match yourself.


FWIW, when it comes to the UI, the HUD's probably the part that has gone through the most revisions and just plain work hours due to player feedback.

I think it's just a fact of being so used to the information being spread on screen, especially with the Vs. Series and Alpha, that your eyes automatically go to the bottom of the screen. I know that the rationale is that it's closer to the playing area and easier to notice when you have enough meter stocked, which is really important for Marvel. I'm just curious as it's breaking with the traditional mindset of why the bar is placed at the bottom and whenever I have viewed footage, I tend not to notice it because it somewhat blends in with the rest of the info on the top of the screen.

Also, is there anyone in this thread who has NOT contributed to the development of Skullgirls at this stage?

For anyone looking for it, the remix of cornered.

IMO the music in UMvC3 has been like the transition between SF4 and SSF4 where the composers have seemed to find their groove a bit more and the music is significantly better. I wonder if they remixed the stage themes as well.

Ezio officially confirmed for SC V. Will be available on both PS3 and 360 versions

No word on any other guest characters yet, though.

Also official release date is 31st of January 2012 in the US, 3rd February 2012 in Europe.

The videos for Raccoon and West were shown in Japan. Early reports are both are really crazy and Frank is almost completely changed from TvC with a new power-up mechanic.

Wright you are going to need someone to build meter with for when you get to turnabout and also protect your ass during investigation. So Raccoon with log trap assist would really help you there. MODOK, you probably need a better builder.

It's ridiculously weird that Capcom would discount huge fan requests or characters that they will likely want to push (like Chuck Greene) straight off like that.

I wonder if they are intentionally not planning for DLC straight off the bat. I remembered that with SSF4's NPD's, it didn't light up the charts in it's first month (Only 400K or something) but the game sold fairly steady compared to most games which dropped off after their first four weeks thanks to it's exposure at tournaments driving up sales. UMvC3 didn't chart in Britain (Though apparently Capcom are having distribution problems). I wonder if Capcom is banking on the same effect in having a slow launch but building the game up via exposure, and then going for DLC (maybe when Nintendo's Wii-U launch plans become clearer as well)

Iron Fist is too fun. Shame he will need a good assist because he's got relaunches for days and hits like a tank.

Loving the Raccoon as well. You can tell everyone involved had a fun time making him. Thinking of going Fist/Spencer/Raccoon since log trap and fist could be filthy and Spencer has a bionic arm.

I think that's what stings more about the whole "Characters on cards in H&H mode probably wont be put in the game" aspect because Capcom is on fire as regards making interesting and fun character designs and I'd love to see what they could do with some of those characters like Gene. But hey, that whole theory could turn out wrong in the next while (I hope).

I don't seem to see any major damage nerf from Spencer. His B'n'B (L,M,c.H, Armor Piercer, L,M,H, Armor Piercer, Bionic Manouvers, TK Air Wire Grapple) seems to output the same. I will learn to TK Death From Above if it kills me though.

Tasky kinda feels weird with his arrows not doing anywhere near as much damage as they did in vanilla, even when you mash them out. Feels like you have to work a bit more for his damage now. I've dropped him though since I seem to get more damage with Frank.

Also Maztorre come home (To XBL). Its been too long since our Skrull Mirrors (METOR SMASH METEOR SMASH METEOR SMASH)

i was expecting to really hate the mashing in ultimate, but it isn't really bothering me too much yet. though yeah if it was up to me it'd probably be gone. after all the buttons you already have to press to play dante it does take a toll


The mashing isn't Marvel 2 bad. The only super I have a problem with it on is Maximum Wesker.

Though at the same time I don't care because Skrull/Frank BFF's 4eva He Luvs U
