| hi guys. i'm getting both versions but i'll probably stick to the ps3 version for a while first. you can find me on psn as belthegor and xbox live as Alfred Packer. i platted demon's souls twice so i'll probably be playing this game 24/7 for the next few months at least. I'M EXCITED. |

nope
starting class in this game seems to mean about as little as it did in Demon's Souls, so i picked the class with the best stats. (pyro and wanderer are tied actually) |

beat the game yesterday. what a ride. also couldn't help but farm the final area, those black knights down there respawn infinitely and drop all the different titanite chunks, 100% drop rate. it's also the best way to farm the black knight weapons and shield.
on to NG+! |

to open the shortcut, donate 30 humanities to the chaos servant covenant. btw guys i got all the achievements, yay. going to do the same on the ps3 version now. |

i'm a fan of spears, but i also like the black knight greataxe. it has a pretty quick swing and if you pump your strength stat it can get pretty strong. unfortunately, however, it can't be buffed by items/spells. this seems to be true for all the black knight weapons though.

that's nothing. strong magic shield makes you 100% invincible, regardless of whether or not you're blocking. (they are going to fix this in the next patch, lol) |

i have experienced weird little freezes here and there playing the ps3 version. it doesn't happen on the 360 version. |

i've played this game for well over 100 hours and the "well! what is it!" gesture is still my favorite and most often used. it's just so "come at me bro", it's hilarious.
oh, and "praise the sun" is pretty good too. i try to do it in sync with solaire every time i summon him.

the demon great hammer actually can go to 15 because it upgrades with normal titanite, like a standard weapon (and can be made fire, lightning, etc.). and there is no trophy for maxing a weapon with demon titanite. |

i don't know if combustion is all that "scrubby" now, what with the damage nerf and everything.
anyway, to add to all the mimic talk from the previous page, i recently learned that if you throw a lloyd's talisman at them, they'll go for a snooze and you can just grab the item out of them without fighting. this is also the only reasonable way to farm the rare head item they drop. put them to sleep, wake them up, put them to sleep, etc. until it drops.
also, i heard that with the new patch, every time you raise a stat, your base defense goes up by 2 instead of 1, and resistance ups it by 3 instead of 2, but only for characters you made POST-PATCH. interesting...

it's gender-dependent. certain gear looks different on males/females.

after doing a little testing, i'm gonna call BS on the theory until someone provides solid evidence. even on my low-level character i made before the patch, sometimes defense goes up by 1, sometimes it goes up by 2. and it seems to alternate between 2 and 3 with the resistance stat as well. |

lol, the black separation crystal is what you wanted to use. effectively terminates any co-op session. |

if you place the lordvessel without talking to frampt he reacts the same way as if you sided with kaathe, and leaves forever.
i'm guessing you can't side with kaathe either if you do this. |

just had the weirdest co-op experience. got summoned in anor londo at level 50, and the host summoned other players that i couldn't see. i saw the summoned message, not the players. as we were fighting the giants before ornstein and smough, i realized 2 things: 1. this person was at least on ng+, because the enemies had tons of hp, and 2. the lag was insane. enemies were freezing in place and randomly teleporting all over. the boss fight was just as weird, smough went down first but he just froze in place even after his life bar was depleted. the cutscene didn't happen til like 15-30 seconds later. then during the giant ornstein fight, the host and ornstein died near-simultaneously, but the host went down first so i got no reward for the co-op session. (or so i thought. just realized i have +1 humanity and about 100k more souls.)
after all this i checked recent players, and indeed, the host was japanese. i guess they're the only ones playing at 11 am EST on a tuesday? why are japanese players playing the american version of the game anyway? |

for future reference, the guy you meet after ringing the first bell will cleanse your sins, which resets any friendly npc that's gone hostile on you. |
