I've rung the chapel bell, got a sweet boar helmet, and right now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to handle the ghosts in the underground ruins. I'm thinking magic.
This game is exhausting. Perhaps I played too much in one sitting. _________________ HeavyViper@Twitter ~~~ HeavyViper@Soundcloud

I had a long battle with Gaping Dragon last night, and a really tense fight with Capra Demon as well. If you're having trouble with Capra Demon, might I suggest using the stairway to your advantage. The dogs will stay hot on your heels and if you're quick enough you can take at least one of them out each time you do it while Capra is trying to make his way up to you. Once they're dead the stairway is still useful, as Capra really is relentless in his attacks and it's more than likely you'll need to break off of combat to catch your breath or take a swig of estus. As for openings for attack, I faced him with a Longsword +2, and the best opportunities I could see were when he's recovering from either falling off the stairs or after his double-overhead slam, both of which give you just enough time for one or two heavy attacks.
I'll either be heading into Blighttown, or having a go at that mini-boss near the blacksmith in the parish next time I play. This game is just getting better and better.

I have had a peculiar control bug in my game pop up very regularly. It usually happens when I'm locked onto an enemy. I'll press either attack button - R1 or R2 - and nothing will happen. Then, if I hit L1 to guard, I'll attack. It's pretty worrying, because even though it hasn't caused any major grievances yet, the possibility remains that it will screw me over. _________________ HeavyViper@Twitter ~~~ HeavyViper@Soundcloud

Currently toeing my way carefully through Blighttown. Poked around the entrance to Queelag's Lair and got some pretty bad vibes, so I'm thinking I might come back later, even though I had an awesome time fighting Sif a few days back. Got him on the second go! What a beautiful fight.
Actually managing to get summoned in Blighttown, but I'm sure that's no news to anyone. Might just start dropping my sign wherever just for the hell of it. _________________ HeavyViper@Twitter ~~~ HeavyViper@Soundcloud

I went back to the Asylum last night and stuck it out with the Stray Demon until I came out on top. Then I managed to find the Valley of Drakes, killed the Undead Dragon and found a new way into New Londo Ruins.
I should probably take a picture of my character to join the ranks. _________________ HeavyViper@Twitter ~~~ HeavyViper@Soundcloud

I think it's generally agreed that FROM loves Berserk.

I made it to Anor Londo, got trapped in the Painted World for a while, then exited without killing the poor wretch. It just seemed like she wanted to be left alone, and besides - she didn't attack me on sight! That's something! _________________ HeavyViper@Twitter ~~~ HeavyViper@Soundcloud

Tried to get summoned in Anor Londo last night before bed and the only thing that happened was someone put "be wary of knight" next to my sign :<
Either there is some kind of stigma towards the Elite Knight set or I've got a pretty terrible rep. _________________ HeavyViper@Twitter ~~~ HeavyViper@Soundcloud

If you "COME AT ME BRO" after killing me, you're getting indicted.

Seath down (with a little help from someone who sadly died a quarter into the fight :<) with Ceaseless Discharge and Firesage Demon tapping out shortly afterwards. Feeling pretty boss (ohohoho).
I'm having better luck getting summoned nowadays, so I don't know if I'm just picking better places or if it was my level. Helping folks is awesome! _________________ HeavyViper@Twitter ~~~ HeavyViper@Soundcloud

Took a peek at Nito while I was summoned. Looks tricky to say the least. Then again, after Pinwheel I was hoping for an actual fight. |

The port is miles away from being bad, and still pretty far from being embarassing. I think of many other PC ports when I hear "bad port" - FFVII, RE4, hell even MGS Integral's PC version is pretty lousy looking - but certainly not Dark Souls.
Dark Souls: PTD is, straight up, an average port. It's fine. It gets the job done, and personally I think that's why people were upset, as it's an idea that I've seen nudged at before around here.
If the port were terrible, people could laugh at it, hold it up as yet another example of How To Not Do This, and have a big ol' dance around the bonfire while the game gets drawn over the flames. If it was a port that went above and beyond, it could be championed as a full-featured port and everyone would at least be happy when they start nit-picking.
But it's mediocre. There's nothing wrong with it, and nothing stands out. Nothing to get upset OR excited about. Just a good game that you can play on your PC.
And that drives people crazy. _________________ HeavyViper@Twitter ~~~ HeavyViper@Soundcloud

I remember taking down Artorias after many failed attempts and a few phantom runs to see other people's strats, but Manus? Since I'm stubborn and love melee, I eventually had to summon Sif to get some real DPS going.
I love that wolf. _________________ HeavyViper@Twitter ~~~ HeavyViper@Soundcloud

ahhhhhhhh this was the best session ever
After burning through Painted World, I made my way into the DLC areas, and on my way back to a bonfire I got invaded. I had Chameleon on me, which turned me into an Abyss polyp, for lack of a better term. I positioned myself behind a tree and waited, and even though there isn't any Abyss corruption in the first part of the forest, this guy runs straight past me - twice coming unbelievably close! - and looks all over the map for me. After his second miss I even put an item down as a hint, but he didn't take the bait!
Eventually he sends me a "dude seriously where are you" message, and at this point I'm ecstatic. I drop him hints, saying I'm "out of place" and "hidden in plain sight." Eventually he finds me and I roll out of my disguise, and then we duked it out - my Catch Pole against his flaming Zwei.
I won with 1HP to spare.
Holy shit. _________________ HeavyViper@Twitter ~~~ HeavyViper@Soundcloud

I am entertained by all the different names for Toejam and Earl. :3
I managed to do them solo recently, and yeah, kiting them around the hall and getting one stuck on a pillar so you can focus on the other is the way to go.
