should we use this thread for a Dark Souls Co-op Club? is most of everyone going ps3 for this?

i am a bit freaking out because my release date shipping shipment hasn't shipped yet and i fear i might lose my collectors edition and i am going to be thinking about this game all of the time tomorrow but i don't have any thing to do wednesday besides _dark souls_

so humanity is something you use to become human, and while you're human, you use extra humanity to kindle the fires, and then? that's the only part of the game i've really been stumped about. granted, only 1 1/2 hours in.

started with the wanderer because i like scimitars.

i really don't miss the nexus at all! everything sort of felt like a checklist, but in dark souls, i'm very much enjoying the PLOD ON that is more or less constantly in my mind. i think i got too excited when i found a shortcut from a seemingly distant area, back to a bonfire. i enjoy this web more than any archstone.

pleasant surprises (also spoilers, i suppose):

summoned my first co-op friend, right outside of a white door with the message "IMMINENT DEMON" thought it would be ok, but turns out it was a horribly, horribly cramped space with a few blood wolves and giant biped capra demon. we almost got him, too! the space of the area was my favorite, so.

GHOSTS. USE AN ITEM TO FIGHT GHOSTS. RUN FROM GHOSTS. though, wary of how often the game provides these items for you? found some from a shopkeep.

no work today, so! also, i feel guilty for using firebombs.

i like how i think everyone is having a fairly varied experience with the first outing of the game. feels like selecting megaman bosses, or playing a megaman game the first time, but instead of seeing the bosses at first you just sort of happen upon them.

also, great magic weapon also buffs the butterfly shield attack so that is pretty cool too.

when i was in the gravelord covenant, my eyes of death did nothing. i would be invaded, sure, but most likely by regular invaders. their death did not bring me any eyes of death.

i farmed for some eyes a while back, with the gold serpent ring and ~4 humanity, drops weren't too common.

red eye orb now :D

also, i'm not sure if i want to complete the game yet. part of me wants to stick around and buff up my items before starting again. maybe a lighting shotel?

half tempted to start using the fog ring for PVP. i've heard rumblings of balance adjustments for PVP, but i have no idea if they're confirmed. anyone else hear about that?

i ran into a few people with 500k+ souls, so i invested those into my heavily neglected faith stat. tranquil walk + dark hand soul sucking is the best. works even if their shield is up!

maybe it is me, but this game is running a bit chunky for me. did the 'test run' and maybe i'm just unfamiliar with how the game MOVES (havent played my ps3 version in a while), and maybe it has always been like that? did it max at 30fps on console? i don't think my laptop is TERRIBLE for the game (for what it counts, an ASUS laptop w second gen i7, geforce 540m, i think, with 1GB memory, 4GB RAM)

i really want to get into this but i'm not sure i can take the 40 dollar plunge when i can wait for console DLC. larger/more active pc community is nice to hear about, though.

I haven't played this game as fervently as others, so the time gap between PS3 and PC play still allows for OH NO moments even when I have inklings that something is going to happen. Example: Curse Frogs.

Don't fall into Curse Frog pit. Okay, I won't. (Where is the Curse Frog pit again?)

ring of favor and protection is a staple for EVERYone, or am i just imagining that?
