buy a bag or two, set those up, get a blessing for more spoils and hit the Labyrinth and you'll have enough good gear to set up another 2 or 3 bags and set up future characters with good loot, especially since each floor is 3 stages long and you'll get tons of continuation bonuses _________________

| Yeah, I got a second bag going tonight, and while it frustrates me that one is clearly better, the second one was good enough to get through 6 dungeons in a row no problem, which did yeild results. I just want them all to be good. Wizard needs all the help he can get, with being the glass cannon he is. |

has anyone figured out if all these bonuses on gear are additive or multiplicative? because I'm pretty sure I have the gear and skill choice to be hitting 80-100% damage reduction if additive and I want to try it out the next time I mess around with bags if I can just walk around, getting hit for tickles until all the gear breaks _________________

I was pretty pleased to find out that you can take local co-op players with you into online parties.
Lost Forest B still makes me smile. That fucker's really hard to fight safely, though. _________________

Whaaa? I play Sorceress, and the defense you get from gear is decent enough that just making sure you grab food and stay away with electric staff attacks + using magic missile air cancels, you're not going to get blown up. Also, I took vitality points.
I know Wizard's a little more fragile than Sorceress, but still... :P _________________ select button

Yeah, his air dodge is garbage, which is a big problem for him. His ground teleport is pretty boss though, so don't be in the air, I guess? Except yeah, if you are electrocuting, airborne is where you gotta be for that charge attack. The problem is that if you get caught with him, shit gets real bad real fast. I did take VIT points as well.
Also the life multiplier enemies get for more than one person is hilarious. If he is solo, the Wiz has no problems at all, really. But man, multiplayer can get pretty ridiculous.
Also, damn, Blaze is just the best goddamn thing for a lot of the bosses. Just a fountain of constant damage. And Storm for crowd clearing.
God Wizard is so much fun.
I now have two characters up to Hard, the Wiz and the Elf. Probably going to work on Warrior next, because soloing him seems pretty doable. Then maybe Amazon or Dwarf. Dwarf's throws are just so fun. |

if you haven't started the Amazon yet, go Berserk+Punisher+Brandish. the combination turns you into a fast-moving machine of twirling death. I accidentally got the trophy for beating the Ancient Dragon in under two minutes on mine by just sitting on his belly and mashing him out on his first phase. getting the max berserk bonus at around that level makes the four-hit ground combo come in a little over a second; hell, it might be a tiny bit faster than that. the Dragon is pretty easy too, once you figure out his gimmicks
got my Elf to hard too, after I stopped trying to make a dagger/backstab thing work (it's great damage, but you have to always be ready to get in position and bosses screw the idea over) into a mobile bow thing. she's got great burst damage, but lacks a little in putting out safe and sustained damage (or I'm bad at dodging, which I'm willing to believe). _________________

| I also love the font editor in this game for letting me make every character's name look like the logo to a crappy 90s coffee place. |

His air dodge is just air R1, right? It's a little backhop, right? Sorceress' is the same one. You essentially use them as extra jumps to cancel air attacks out of. Once you start really canceling all over the place, I think your damage potential goes bonkers.
I do a lot of jump MM, air dodge MM, air jump MM, air dodge MM, air dash MM with Sorceress. If I recall, you can hover in place with Wizard and get way more attacks out of it instead of Sorceress' bailout move, so you can actually stack some damage.
Also, I'm REALLY aggressive ALL the time. I will jump into groups of enemies and charge-lightning with impunity and melee/teleport out if necessary, but mostly I just stay in the air because charge-lightning is so good. I clear enemy waves with jump charge-lightning, dodge charge-lightning. I also kill bosses like Kraken by jump [] [] [] [] up+O, air jump [] [] [] [] up+O, repeat.
I've also found some interesting things: if you air dodge MM and then air dodge again, you can't immediately cancel into a move. To get your cancels back / get out of a recovery state, you need to jump again -- you can't get out of recovery state unless a jump is thrown in there at some point. (Try it! Jump once MM, then air dodge MM, then try to air dodge MM again -- it won't work. You can jump, air dodge, air jump, air dodge and MM every time, but you can't jump, air dodge, air dodge and get an MM on the second air dodge.)
This is all very useful for small bosses (Killer Rabbit) and any time you benefit from homing missiles to hit targets with.
Sorceress is busted in the Colosseum, by the way. Open Blizzard and usually get 2-3 free kills from people who aren't itemizing against freezing attacks, then magic missile cancel all over the place and pile on the free damage. If someone gets close to you, air-thunder for a knockdown, dash away and start charging. In 1v1, you can kite with magic missiles and air thunder anytime anyone gets close, so...

Oh yeah, I got a lot of that stuff down, or at least the basics. Not a huge fan of the MM, though it sounds like I should work it into more things. I actually think Ice is my magic of choice, though Lightning has some nice benefits as well.
Like I said, it's mostly just that dude cannot take a hit at all, which is deal-able with, just something to keep in mind when jumping from the Fighter who gives no fucks about getting hit at all. |

man, nothingxs, when you start messing around with the physical characters, you're gonna have fun. since the ground dodge puts you in an air state, you can do air moves off of that, but you still keep both your jumps, so with the Amazon, you can do ground dodge>up air>jump>up air>jump>side air>dodge>side air (if you have the skill for it)>down air or dodge into down air or jump (the dive kick)
there seems to be a hard cap of any two air normals regardless of how long you stay in the air (if you skill up evasion enough, you can stay airborne for a while with anyone) _________________

okay, I think Stupid Gimmick Damage Tank build works. ~-40% damage taken from gear, Pump Up reducing damage by 50% and a hammer with a +30% bonus to the Pump Up effect. my Dwarf is lvl 72-74; regular enemies on Infernal were hitting for 5-10 damage and the Red Dragon was hitting for between 25 and 50 on swipes (it had at least 15 levels on me)
gonna railroad the fuck out of Infernal now that I am a giant-ass tank with legs and fists _________________

Did you mean to say "without"? Otherwise I'm not sure I follow... Can you elaborate? |

"out" means "unless" in the sentence and not "in". should have picked a better word.
so it's "don't potray this unless its in a strict consensual scenario"

This game was really fun through normal, but hard mode is not really doing it for me. I don't know why. The mechanics are sharper and there's *more to do*, but I just don't seem to care as much in hard as I did in normal. I also hear that once you beat normal locally you need to beat it 3 more times for your friends to get to hard? _________________ interdimensional |
