After messing around with Gundhara a little more, I'm confused about how you could say the kick is useless seeing as it makes big points and can cancel bullets. Also, fuck that helicopter boss. And that whole level. _________________

Game fit like a finely made glove, right up until those damn little hunchback guys.
Oh, and apparently the game wouldn't let me use FUCK for initials.
I demand the next game be Snacks'n Jaxson, the finest hobo-clown nose-bouncing eating simulator ever drunkenly conceived. _________________

This would probably a lot more enjoyable if I could figure out how the hell to get a multiplier in the first place. _________________

Okay, last one.
So, the multiplier is activated by picking up the sacks and goes up to 8x, which is 3 sacks. The issue is that sacks (along with powerups) come out at random from the enemies you throw. The easy way to get around this is to ruthlessly farm on the 1st boss. Even if you don't get enough sacks, you at least want to get a speed-up so you can grab split gems. The caveat with this is that after you build it up, you better be ready for a 1CC and perfect every stage (especially the latter, which is like, a million points once you're at 8x). _________________

Even if you get the DANCE BONUS, enemies won't always turn into fruit. From what I've seen, if the bonus that's flashed up is 5000 or more, they'll turn into fruits. Otherwise, depending on the stage, they'll line up for a nice shot and you can get a decent chain (think I got one where the last enemy down was worth 32k or 64k, can't remember).
Good to see more puzzle-y stuff. _________________

Whoa, hold on there.
You're forgetting about the great Golden Tee explosion in the late 90s.
That reflects my experience; the arcade closest to me is entirely racers, fightmans, lightgun games and ticket games. They also put every game in there on sale every Christmas, which is just asking me to drop $1200 and save that poor twin Daytona cab or the MvC2 cab with a busted monitor.
At any rate, the nature of arcade games sort of appeals to me. The games, by and large, are beatable but the odds are stacked in the game's (and operator's) favor. I like that, that sort of spiteful challenge. Kind of like gambling, except there's always the chance I can bankrupt the house regardless of the cards dealt. It also says something that Neo-Geo games always have "How To Play" screens, whereas most games just have rolling demos, as if SNK knew the problem was there. _________________

My first run probably would made more sense if I knew you could shoot regular doors instead of needing keys for them.

Pictured is me dying about 1-2 minutes from a 1cc.
Man, the Japanese version gives out health like candy. Not that I mind. _________________

Same spot, 2nd loop (and I would've had it had I not fucked up the boss previous). They really want you to live, seeing as it starts raining meat once you go below 6 HP. Oh, and the alien queen is worth like, 200,000 herself.
Running theme of my screens and protip: the power loader is stupid. Don't use it until you have to throw the queen out. _________________

I do not like this game.
Now Wordtris... there's a good horrible Tetris cash-in. _________________

I was a little thrown off about how easy it was. At which point, the game knew my guard was down and threw lots of shit at me. Also, for a game with the word TURBO in the title, these flying cars are pretty slow. _________________

So, those conveyor belts on the 3rd stage. They can push you around when you have a single pixel on them. I found this out on a brief sojourn into the abyss. _________________

The timer's pretty deceptive, since you get lots of extra time from fruits. _________________

Damn it, high score table, it's not fair to give me all that space and then not enough time to put in DICKJONES. _________________

I liked this so much, I went back and made another score. Apparently, that van is like a huge spike and the difficulty drops off for a bit.

Also, has there been a beat 'em up/belt scroller yet? _________________

The best non-obvious belt scroller suggestion I can think of is D.D. Crew, which I only got reminded of because of a random screenshot. And if the video Replay Burners has up on the youtubes is any indication, it's hard as fuck and a bit on the long side. But dem tunes. _________________

No, wait, I rescind my suggestion. The correct answer is Captain America and the Avengers. Mostly because I have a good chance at that and more Deco. _________________

This game is piles of good design buried under the most inane aiming I've seen in anything with an overhead view. And yet, I like it, perhaps because of its quirks. It's not all that bad, if you take things slow. It's all over once the game gets you on its pace, though. _________________

Diagonal shots have a habit of veering off at angles in-between the 8 main directions, like the game is trying to auto aim a bit. It feels really unnatural, especially when you have a shot come off where you wanted while another one goes on its own happy path. Also, aim assist doesn't jive with me in anything. _________________
