| Todd Haynes made a fantastic movie about environmental sensitivity called Safe. It's kind of a fascinating topic in the way its existence is largely denied by the medical establishment, as it's such a great unknown. |

my mom was also "allergic to technology", by which I mean that whenever she sat down to use a computer she'd get all short of breath and itchy in the throat and have to run away from the computer. She'd get mad at us when we suggested that it might not actually be an allergy, even when she had the symptoms while using a laptop outside, or when she was in close, prolonged proximity to a computer without knowing it and didn't exhibit any of the symptoms.
Finally my stepfather capitulated and setup a computer in one room, and then DRILLED A HOLE IN THE WALL and setup the keyboard and monitor and mouse on the other side of the wall, and stuffed a sock in the hole so no "technology" or whatever would get through. With all of the excuses taken away, my mom stopped having her "allergic reaction", learned how to use a computer, and now magically she doesn't have her allergy any more and can use computers just fine even if they're not in the other room.
Basically what I'm saying is that this woman's husband needs to stop being an enabler, or at least he should start doing things that are proactive and will "help cure her allergy".
Oh, also, the daily mail is a tabloid, so this whole story is probably made-up and the woman doesn't exist anyway. Although I'm pretty sure my mom does exist. _________________

When the husband found out this Carbon paint was going to cost 250 pounds (490 U.S. dollars), right then and there he should have thrown the flag up for a foul, and told her to toughen up and stop being a nutcase. _________________

Well, as a husband I am sure he would have re-worded it. Maybe calling her "Stupid" or "Ruining my whole life!!" _________________

| Thanks, Luvcraft, at first I believed this. On second thought though, it just doesn't make any sense. |

| "I'm allergic to modern living" should pretty much be the Daily Mail's slogan. |

Faraday cages can block most any radiation. Basically any radiation whose wavelength is shorter than the size of the holes in the cage can get in so sit in a solid metal box and BOOM no more radiation.
Neutrinos have undetectably small mass and interact so weakly with human bodies as to be completely negliagable in their effects.
This article screams psychosomatic—I mean look at the first image. OH NOES THE ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS HAVE BEEN DEFLECTED BY HER HAIR.
Cognitive behavioural therapy is good at treating electrosensitivity! Fancy that! _________________

Everything emits radiation, technically. Even rocks.
What they probably mean there is electromagnetic radiation, not gamma particles. A CRT Television would have a pretty noticable electromagnetic field, substantially larger than that of an LCD television.
But like
The fucking field dissipates as an inverse of the CUBE OF THE DISTANCE.
The fucking field off a TV would be pretty unnoticeable like, a foot or two away. Either kind of TV. Shit, the fact that they still HAVE a television means this is totally bullshit. |

Tesla was pretty rad too but I guess he and Faraday would have been mortal enemies since Telsa liked making stuff kerplode and Faraday was all about the shielding.
They are both cool dudes is what I'm saying.
Low. The TV would give off minute amounts of gamma radiation as atoms within it underwent beta decay. Unless the TV was packed with radioactive material, it wouldn't produce anything above normal background radiation levels.
I like radiation! _________________
