Hey all, IC generally seems to have good music taste.. I'm putting together a demo for a club and would appreciate any good songs you have that you'd think would be good for djing.. I'm mostly going to be doing mashups and the like but early in the night when not as many people are there i'll be able to do whatever, so it doesn't matter what genre. To give you a feel for the kind of 'vibe' i want, here's a test mix.

Big Beat / Trance Mix

as a disclaimer, this is kind of crappy because I was on aim, and it sort of falls apart at the end.. but let me know if you liked or hated it anyway!

PS. Whoever posted the chaos field soundtrack in here, I MUST have more of it. It's great![/url]

seems like some trance, leaning on the progressive side, would fit right in there! in that case, i'd recommend these tracks:

David West featuring. Andreas Hermansson - Larry Mountains 54
Audioholics - External Key (Perry O'Neil Remix)
Greed - Rolling Hills
Peter Martin pres. Anthanasia - Simply Blue
Above & Beyond - World On Fire
Mike Foyle - Shipwrecked (John O'Callaghan vs. Mike Foyle Club Mix)
B.I.G. - Carpe Diem
Red Shift & Van der Vieuten - Blue Mountain
Jody Wisternoff - Nostalgia (Remix)
Antidote - Transcentral
Leon Bolier presents Surpresa – Bonaire
Richard Durand – Sunhump
Mystique - Just As I Thought
Andy Moor – Halcyon
Tranquility Base - Getting Away
Niklas Harding pres. Arcane - Blue Circles
Mike Foyle vs Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk
Way Out West - Don't forget Me (Way out west Dust Biter mix)
Sonorous - Protonic (Leama and Moor Mix)
Niklas Harding presents Arcane - Ice Beach
Starkid - Crayons 2004 (Leama and Moor Mix)
ZGR - Zero Hours (Perry O'Neil Remix)

and yeah, lol at all the "remix" stuff.
hope this helps. :I

I was trying to stay away from prog trance, I like it, but I don't think a lot of people here do.. however I will check out a few of those, it's a big list!
at any rate, is your name diplo because of the remixer?

I like mine funky and retro check theses out:

***

Incredible Bongo Band - Bongo Rock (just re-released)
enter the dragon soundtrack (fun kung-fu sounds wee!)
War - the world is a ghetto / 4 cornered room
Danny rampling- break for love (remixes, not really retro)
Afrika Bambaataa - 'metal' (among others)
Cybertron - Clear / Planet Rock
Zapp and Rodger- Dance Floor

The moody blues - they say some weird trippy shit as intros to various songs, throw an echo or chorus in there and your on another planet.

***

Admittedly not exactly what you seem to be shooting for but its good stuff.

Also checkout the B sides of chemical brother's singles most notably "Base 6" and "Rize up" They have amazing hooks and the Chemical Brother's sound yet people aren't likely to recognize them.

If you're looking for housy stuff like RAM RIDER and Mondo Grosso, go check out some of the newer capsule albums like Sugarless Girl or Fruits Clipper. On the other side of the map you've got the essential Alan Braxe or Hystereo or heck, Daft Punk, man. Throw some old tunes like Revolution 505 in there. Back in Japanland, you've got some choice funky cuts from Towa Tei or some old and new straight up techno from Ken Ishii. If you want dirty electro stuff like Justice or lighter, still modern electro like Booka Shade, heh, well I've got things of interest at home that I can probably upload somewhere for you.

What's the song after the LittleBigPlanet tune? I like it.

Not sure if you'd like it, but luomo remix by akufen might fit in somewhere. So would this other song I'm currently uploading.

if you're on iTunes, search for "Red Velvet Jukebox"; it's the collections my friend makes, which I think would be right up your alley. Especially Red Velvet Jukebox 9.
