haven't played a GTA since i played IV at a friends house whenever that thing came out so i know i'm a valuable asset

started this late last night and got only to about a few missions after you get Chop

it's been forever since i played GTAIV and so i was still in The Last of Us mode when i was trying to run/shoot and it did not go well. after a few minutes, i got my groove back, but i forgot how fucking weird the handling is on a lot of the cars, and how, unlike in Saints Row, you can't just mash down on the acceleration and hope for the best.

GTA weirdo physics are probably the most entertaining thing to me, so i had quite a laugh, even when i wasn't doing so great. Franklin' would be like "Man, I know what i'm doing." then like i'd accidentally scrape by a passing car and the whole thing would barrel roll a couple times until landing on the tires. in my head, i'm imagining Franklin thinking he's the best driver, but he's really the worst.

the writing is pretty bad so far, but i sort of expected as much. I like Chop. Chop is a cool dog.

the online mode is way more hilarious if you pretend your creepy create-a-criminal is a Terminator.

i did one race and one chase where the car with the drugs may as well have been made up titanium. then on the drive home the random other online player and i fought over the radio station choices.

it's pretty fun.

also apologies to anyone sending me mission invites online, i'm still getting issues where i'm getting kicked from the server during the tutorial missions, and plus i haven't even finished the story mode.

but i'd still like to play with y'all sometime.
