Supposedly this is a two hour nearly silent chase movie made without a script that was shot solely from story boards that have been around since the early 90s

different articles over the course of the long ass time this movie's been trying to made that have mentioned how it has barely any dialogue, it's one giant chase scene etc. here's a recent one

Read a slightly different quote where he goes on about how fast Miller planned on cutting somewhere else, but can't find it now.

This keeps my anticipation at reasonable levels.

Brendan McCarthy is a co-writer and co-designer of Fury Road too, and he's an awesome comic book artist who drew a lot of Judge Dredd and his own indie projects.

Does he mean there are going to be lots of little cuts, or that they won't be spending much time editing?

The former seems most likely, since light continuity becoming a "problem" seems like a viewer-end thing?

...

Meanwhile something leaked.

Bits with either an absence or surplus of electrons, then become ones or zeroes, every two billionth of a second and affect the macro, our lives. That's the world this film takes place in.

One other really cool thing... You know how Ultron's speech is all about strings? The music playing in the background throughout this footage underlines Marvel's parent company. It's a creepy version of Pinocchio's “I Got No Strings.” And the footage ends with a fully rebuilt, intimidating and functioning Ultron... not the wreck we've seen up till this point, but shiny, silver and ready to rumble... looking at the camera and ending his speech with “There are no strings on me.”

Actually. The trailer looks to me like just another crappy action movie trailer - the way it's cut and scored. BUM BUM. I mean, the images themselves are excitingly fantastic, and I'm sure the way the trailer is constructed says nothing about the way the movie is constructed. But the trailer if anything makes me froth less for the movie, which should reteach me a lesson I've already learned, which is not to watch trailers for movies I already want to see.

Yep. I only watch trailers for things I know zero about or if I get the right sort of vibe from the Internet en masse (which is usually if its a negative reaction, but it would be based on a gut reaction to certain type of negative internet reaction, case by case).

I wish every trailer in the theater would start with a credit for the director / "from the makers of" so I can have a heads up to close my eyes.

It's still better than any Hollywood blockbuster trailer in recent memory because it barely has any dialogue/no bad jokes and is just action/chases (coherent, no less). And fuck me if I didn't love the big BLARE! that plays in the scene where the girl measures the distant gang of marauders with her fingers that then cuts to POV.

I also though the bum bum score worked for the trailer and isn't trying to be the garrish orchestral grand that you see in a Hans Zimmer or the two Williams and those similar to that ilk.

Nothing can prepare you for how remarkably terrible this looks.

...to everyone but TMKF.

This is now his most anticipated motion picture of the decade.

Between recent works with cronenberg and michod plus upcoming films with herzog, assayas, gray, corbijn and korine, pattinson is really taking his teenage girl audience places (the audience I saw Cosmopolis with was heavily teenage girls D: ).

I'm not going, but the TIFF (Toronto) lineup looks really good this year.
Directors with films showing include: Jean-Luc Godard, Sion Sono, Ning Hao, Isao Takahata, David Cronenberg, and Abel Ferrara.
