RIP Samantha Mathis

Is the first Atlas Shrugged even worth MST3King? If so, do any SB peeps want to do that?

Yeah, I saw it with a bunch of snarky friends it was great fun.

Full disclosure my uncle wrote the Parker screenplay and it makes me want to cry thinking about his relation to this limp-looking mistreatment of the character. You have no idea how many times they've re-cut this thing trying to get test audiences to enjoy it. From the uncle: the director can do action and he's bad at everything else.

That's ironic, since Taylor Hackford's directed just about everything but action movies (his best film is still Hail! Hail! Rock 'n Roll). His movies can get sappy though, which is not a good fit for Parker at all.

Jeez louise that's even more of a departure from the book than I thought

I've never read the book, but I'm curious what the departure is? Is it that the characters are supposed to look completely different when they are reincarnated? I can understand wanting to use the same actors to make it easier for the audience to identify them, but I'm sure it will look super creepy.

EDIT- w..what?

They were making a King Conan movie 10 years ago that got cancelled when Arnie became governor. That sucked. I'm glad they're making it now even though his body's deteriorated a lot since then.

Brendan McCarthy is a co-writer and co-designer of Fury Road too, and he's an awesome comic book artist who drew a lot of Judge Dredd and his own indie projects.
