so i've got VLC, right. i've got my macbook pro hooked up to my HDTV. the HDTV is working as a second monitor, yeah, not as the primary display. anyway, when i double-click a VLC video window in order to try to make it full screen n the HDTV, it ends up flipping back over to the MBP main display, which is kind of 'tarded.
what option do i have to click, or whatever, to get this video to display full screen on my secondary monitor?
i've got important downloaded television shows to watch, and i'm tired of just stretching the window. it leaves a mood-killing border :( _________________

I've been using Niceplayer, which is about as bare-bones of a media player as it gets. It only normally works with quicktime files, but if you install Perian for your DivX and XVid needs, and then Flip4Mac if you're using any wmv files, you can drop just about anything on it, and it works.
It also supports that little-used remote that came with the Macbook too.

Since this is kind of similar, I've had this same kind of problem with windows xp running things on a second monitor and then filling the screen on the secondary monitor. _________________

Under Preferences -> Interface -> Main interfaces -> macosx, there is a number box for "Video device." The default is 0, which stands for your primary display. Change it to 1 (though some people have to use 2? maybe?). Then just make sure the controller window is on your TV before you Apple-f it.
EDIT: You might also be able to do this on a per video basis from the Video Device submenu in the Video menu. |

| Try moving the little control box to the HDTV - at least when I do this with my own MBP VLC will fullscreen to whatever monitor has the playback control window. |
