There's some kind of videogame sale on Amazon.com starting at midnight Pacific time tonight, going for one day.
If it's at a good enough price I think I'll finally grab that MGS set. Maybe one or two other things. _________________

So Rock Paper Shotgun has an interview with Levine about 1999 mode in Bioshock: Infinite.

I think the man sounds like a fool who—despite enjoying years of freedom, power, and apparently misplaced acclaim as a game designer—has never actually finished a thought about game design. It's embarrassing. |
if I actually read this I will almost certainly be banned from RPS for the third time.
depends on how much I want to kill some time later tonight, I guess. |

I read something about the game's PC version possibly getting a Steam release, too. Wonder if they'll use the fan translation. _________________

If it happens, they definitely will. The English-language VN companies have caught on that they can save a significant amount of time and money by buying the scripts the fan translators have already started & polishing them. _________________

I feel like This is Vegas should be on that list. Didn't they sink 130 million into that? Maybe it hadn't been cancelled yet at the time that list was made.
No, looks like it was just around $50m, but that would still put it on the list. This list was made back in February. Also RDR would fit in around Too Human's level. |
Killzone 2 always gets on just because they actually released numbers. ($55 million, if I remember correctly?) From what we can guess, that's probably a pretty average cost for a AAA title. I mean, MW2 probably cost around $65 million to make (and $200 million in advertising wooo), and that was a two-year sequel with a engine mostly in place. |

While I appreciate that its getting recognized, none of what i'm seeing in the pictures is half as interesting/arresting, as the visuals in the actual game. |

Somehow I feel this odd little image sums up Bioshock and Ken Levine perfectly.
In other, better news, Sonic CD is out for the PC.

I'm not even sure they get paid for the scripts, if the Muv-Luv Alternative and Shikokku no Sharnoth debacle last year is any indication. But yeah, the group translating S;G is already in talks with JAST USA about it. _________________

Dead Island for $25 now. Modern Warfare 3 (for $?) in an hour. It's kind of crappy, but some people might be interested. _________________ interdimensional |

El Shaddai is an extremely vapid, though very pretty 3D action game from a team including some old Clover Studio and Devil May Cry folks. The story is a highly liberal interpretation of the Old Testament's Book of Enoch...as in, one that includes motorcycles.
There's a demo out, so you could see for yourself. It becomes boring amazingly fast. _________________

Pretty much this. It's no Bayonetta or DMC3. |

SNK knows people love old SNK games so much that they made some kind of high-tech Famiclone for people to lug around old games on:
http://andriasang.com/comzr4/neo_geo_pocket_2/
what the heck is this thing. is this real.
AV out, SD card, is that mini-USB (for power, I presume)? I wonder if it can handle two-player somehow.
Also the shoulder buttons, what the heck. |

yeah its a no-brainer for me if it can emulate even pre psx stuff. something you can actually fit in your pocket with buttons to press is strangely missing from the market _________________

it sounds to me like you should already have a dingoo or gp2x or wiz or caanoo
although i guess they're probably slightly larger than pocket size, they are smaller than the ds or psp _________________

I think El Shaddai's one button combat and weapon stealing is pretty good and plan on replaying the game in Score Attack. I'm a minority though.
To be fair you can tell exactly when they run out of money/time. _________________ My Hawt Blog Vita Games

Quarrel is out on XBLA.
It is 400 points.
It can be best described as "Advance Wars meets Scrabble"
It's from the creator of the original Grand Theft Auto
It is bloody amazing.
