SSX is pretty BRO-y so this seems thematically appropriate. _________________ Mixtapes galore ~ VG MUSIC

i dunno, it dates shit about as badly as numetal
i really hope this game is good though. We have the tech to do AMAZING extreme sports games these days and no one does it. My hands are too integral to my employment to put my wrists at risk bombing anything these days :/ _________________

It's more like real-life extreme sports need to step the fuck up and get on board with all this extreme zipline action.
Also DiRT stole all the XTREEEEME sponsors to put them in a game about a sport for middle-aged Welshmen. |

Yeah, I am really hoping the new SSX is good, though I was one of the few people who liked the crammed mountain of On Tour, so who knows.
Really want the new news thread to be "This is the remix edition" but that is because I watched Trapped in the Closet a few weeks ago, so Kells is on the brain. |

Gunslinger Stratos is an eight-player versus light gun game for Japanese arcades, taking the concept introduced by 2Spicy to ridiculous levels.
Each player uses two guns. You can choose whether to wield both akimbo or physically connect the guns together in two different ways for a single stronger weapon. Sadly, this means a console port would be highly improbable...good luck marketing a game that requires two PS3 Move controllers per player.
In related news, I'm amazed that Gundam: Senjou no Kizuna is still getting updates. _________________

As if further acknowledgement was needed that the 3DS and Vita are not truly portable systems (not that they really should be). _________________

Kid Icarus is extraordinarily poorly-conceived given the hardware features. It is a game that you play with one hand on the analog stick, holding the system, and another hand using the stylus as a sort of half-assed "mouselook" to shoot things. This was awkward on the original DS; it's worse here since the 3D effect on the top screen breaks with even a relatively small adjustment of the viewing angle. Let's not get into using the Monster Hunter attachment so left-handed players can use the stylus with their dominant hand, which can't be combined with the stand. _________________

That zombie apocalypse little-girl-hugging simulator AMY has been panned by a couple of sites. Not near the level of Big Rig racing; it's more the story being opaque, gameplay being repetitious and on the level of Silent Hill 1 for combat control.
Shame that. I thought it was an interesting premise when it was first announced. |

This is interesting, since I didn't know portable PC gaming had a present to begin with. Even playing mouse-heavy games with a touchpad is unwieldy, nevermind something built around kbm (though trackballs are nice). |

It also has pre-order DLC, which I guess we can blame Namco-Bandai for. _________________

hells yeah, gonna preorder this w/e. Even here in aus we have a release date, there's gotta be an american one. At least I generally get pretty fast connections with japanese players, take guns into sword mech games everyday _________________

anymore details on the launch dlc?
From the story it kinda sounds like it just unlocks a bunch of parts you would have to play the campaign for, to make the dudes who just want it for multiplayer competitive straight away?
I can't find a lot of details but have they added like a weight limit or point/value limit to multiplayer games? it would be cool to be able to set up matches specifically for heavy slow dudes/ghetto cheap mechs or whatever _________________

I believe it actually has Guardian Heroes staff working on it.
About Gunslinger Statos, it's the new game by the Gundam Extreme VS guys. I've always wanted to play 2Spicy so I'm glad I have another 2Spicy I can always wish I could play. |

Damn this game just got really interesting to me. I know it's basically a Japanese Gears of War clone but holy hell this is a way more interesting story/subject matter than anything Cliff Bleszinski could dream up. _________________

after finally getting around to watching this: I want this so bad. especially if it launches for $30. Which I mean, I know it won't. I will probably pay full price for it regardless. _________________

Bloody hell. Give whoever it is in Sega's AV department who made this a raise. That trailer just shot my interest from that game from "no interest at all" to "I must play this as soon as possible".
February is going to be a good month between that and Twisted Metal. _________________

Anyway I am heavily interested in bro-oping this with all and sundry. _________________ Let's Play, starring me. |

| Is there co-op? Given the focus on the "managing your relationships with your AI squad mates" from other trailers I sort of thought they were keeping this one strictly single-player. |

The only co-op is in one of the separate multiplayer modes (based on the achievements, it looks to be called "Invasion"):

| Code of Princess looks neat and all, but it's a bit of a shame that the in-game sprites for the characters look like hot garbage instead of Kinu Nishimura's gorgeous art. |
